Track Tested: 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray vs 2014 Nissan GT-R
|
Thanks for posting. Not to mention the C7 looks about 1,000 times better than the whatever. :yesnod:
|
Some bad info on the GTR, It does NOT have over 600hp, it has 545. Need the Z0? To compete against the GTR. The Stingray is a real nice ride. Thanks for posting.
|
So the C7 out did the Viper and now the GTR :D The Z06 is going to annihilate almost anything out there
|
Good info, thanks for posting. There has been some excessive body roll posts on the forum, but the body roll on both cars in the video looked very similar.
I am watching in a smaller screen, so I could be missing it, but looked good to me. |

Chalk up another one for the C7. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for posting! Edmunds tested the same C7 against a bunch of competitors and we can expect them to be doling these comparos out one at a time over the next month or two.
|
Good video and the C7 did well against the GT-R.

The GTR sucks in the looks dept and is very heavy but they go like stink around a track. I have a modded c5 z that beats about anything on a track but not the GTR...until they get hot anyway.

Um the Corvette won what? Braking. The GT R is the other best value for the money. Yes it costs more so it should be faster and it is. I love the C7 but it cannot compete with the Nissan on numbers. If you prefer the C7, which I do, good for you, but don't diss the Nissan, it is one hell of a car.
|
If there had been prize money awarded for the outcomes, I think the GT-R would have been the more rewarding drive. The c7 hangs in there despite the body roll, but there is an obvious abundance of it, as well the stance is tall, lots of daylight underneath. The narrow tires may be responsible for the appearance. It wins on agility but doesn't look the part of dancing with the stars. The GT-R would easily be worth the extra coin to me.
|
This is a good example that numbers is not everything in a sports car.

I am watching in a smaller screen, so I could be missing it, but looked good to me. In the skidpad it looks like the C7 maybe it has a little more oversteer and still it beat the GTR also. You can be sure that the Z07 body control is going to be even tighter than the base C7. |

Stick a couple of giant turbo's on the C7 and then see what you get.
Godzilla is a monster through in acceleration. You gotta give it credit for that. Not many cars can beat it 0-60 if that's what you want -- and none of them under $500,000 |

Idk if is has been posted but edmunds is going to compare the stingray with the 911, viper and other cars in the upcoming days/weeks

I think the heat really killed the GTR in this test. Randy Pobst ran this same track with a 2012 GTR 6 seconds faster than they did with the '14 GTR track edition in this recent test. That 2012 GTR even pulled a faster lap time than the Z06 with Z07 package and cup tires. 1:19.55 ('12 GTR) to 1:20.43 (Z06/Z07). Pobst was driving the Z06 as well.
The C7 is no slouch though and I think it definitely has taken over best bang for the buck now that the GTR is right around 100k. |
