Antivenom 3rd Gear Shift Solution
For anyone seeking more info on this mod and someone's experience with it - here you go.
After supercharging my 08Z (600rwhp) and adding a MGW shifter I found that on a hard run through the gears I would often hit what felt like to gate going from 2nd to 3rd gear. I read up on using different tranny fluids but none of the evidence seemed conclusive to me - to help the 2nd to 3rd shift issue. So I decided to try the Antivenon mod and installed a couple of 20mm copper oil drain plug washers from NAPA - one measured 0.8 inches thick and the other was 0.55 inches = 0.135" total. After installing the washers I found the shifter was easier to move from one gear to the next - and over the last 2 weeks only missed 3rd gear once out of over 20 hard runs through the gears. So in my view that is a significant improvement and a worthwhile mod. EDIT: The NAPA part numbers for the two drain plug washers I used are as follows: 704-1357 704-3006 |
Where do you install these washers? What is the thought behind the additional washers?

This has been done for many many years on the T56 trans...supposedly gets rid of the "notchy" feel. Didn't know it was applicaple to the TR6060.

As asked where to you put them??

Yes I have. Excellent inexpensive mod that works great. Use two washers not one. I have 08z with mgw shifter. This does not effect the action of shifter just makes it easier to shift
