Failed Craigslist finds.

I think this may be a fun thread to start. I'm a member on another forum that started a thread like this and it just took off. You would be able to share some of the really funny and strange stuff out there in the Corvette world. I will kick things off with the following Item .

Can you say "Scoop-A-Holic? I've never seen one hood, that had so many different styles of scoops in my life. You've got Cowl Induction Scoops, NACA scoops, reverse-scoops and louver Scoops.

The only scoop I don't see, is an Ice Cream Scoop! Can you imagine trying to look around that thing while driving?

:ack:

The hood looks like a speed boat from the top.
The guy with the c4- yea, don't try to haggle with him.

No kidding! That hood scoop has to ride up at least 2/3 of the way up the windshield on a C3! You can always mount a backup type camera on the front corner of the hood and have a tv screen inside of the scoop too. That would work! That way, you'd know if you ingested something you shouldn't have...

I think I saw something like it on Captain Nemo's sub.

So I imagine that hood was on top of a blown turbo engine at some point. (Height and position of the right front vent)
All that venting would have been used to prevent lift at high speed. (Very unsafe for you guys with the dry rotting 15's)

I do not suppose something that tall and clean was built by Bubba to cover a 68 numbers matching NHRA 300HP small block with a stock air cleaner...

Just curious what you guys use to cover your 3 foot tall big dollar engine on your 180 MPH drag car that is so much better? You prefer a hole in your hood?

What would you charge for a 600+ dollar hood you then put 20+ hours into building?

Looks like a lot of effort and functional to me..

Sorry, I have to disagree, I've never seen nuthin' like that at any drag race I've ever been to! Not at the Winternationals, not at the March Meet, not at OCIR back in the day on the vintage gassers, never! Most of the guys are running, just that, holes in the hood (cause' who wants to hide an 8-71 Blower? Flaunt it, if ya got it!) or they're going the pro-stock look, like this one, I snapped at the March Meet this year in Bakersfield.

The one pictured, is just plain bizarre and is more 'Corvette Summer' than anything else. PS: Note the many dzus fasteners on the drag car below, that go all the way around, versus the two rear pin style fasteners on the rear of the custom hood.
