59 frame color?
 

Getting ready to sandblast and paint my 59 frame. What color and finish is the frame supposed to be? Is it black, and is it flat, semi-gloss, or glossy? Working on original restoration. Thanks. Jill

Hi Jill,
The frame should be semigloss black.
If you are going for an original type restoration, you should join the NCRS, a ton of knowledge and help for original type restorations.
At the very least get the NCRS judging guide for your year, it will give you all the colors and finishes for the various parts of your car.
Also get the assembly manual, again much great info.
Keep us posted as you go, we love to follow restorations.

Thanks for the info, Paul. I appreciate the help and I'll definitely look into joining NCRS. I've been so wrapped up in working on the resto project so much, I haven't taken the time to join yet - lol. My hubby said I should also start posting my pics to the forum soon. I've been in heaven since I started working on the car. Got it in March and have soda blasted the entire exterior of the body and took the body off the frame last weekend. So now I can work on both the body and the frame simultaneously and still continue to collect needed parts. Winter will be here soon and I've been stockpiling parts and staging things so I can spend most of the winter working on it inside. Thanks again for the info. Jill
