C7 Corvette Rear Bumper w/Round taillights - Our first shot, are we on right track?
Hello!
We are working on a new C7 rear bumper with the round lights like so many of you have asked about. I've attached a few pictures to see if you think we are on the right track? I won't be able to get pictures of if on our C7 until mid next week, but want your feedback. If you don't like the round taillight look, I understand, but this is for feedback from owners looking to change to the round lights, to see if you like what we are doing and what changes might need to be made? Thanks you! http://www.rpidesigns.com/images/c7rearbumperc6.jpg http://www.rpidesigns.com/images/c7zr7bumper1.jpg http://www.rpidesigns.com/images/c7zr7bumper2.jpg |
I like it:thumbs:....are the tail lights from a C6...?? Will it be an outright purchase or do you need to have our original bumper cover back? I take it you will have it available in "color match" like your other parts?

It's impossible to pass judgement until it is on a car and you can see how it works with the car overall. Having said that, it looks pretty good for a customer who wants a C6 look. How are you dealing with the venting?
|
Who asked for a Nissan GTR bumper on their nice new C7?
|
Dont like it. It's as stupid as taking one step forward and two steps backward. Those lights are outdated for crying out loud. Try a new project like wide body conversion kits and stop wasting our time with round tail lights
|
There are also rear vents; how are you going to incorporate them?
That was the whole reasoning with the square lights, which by the way I love! |
Lets face it, Round tail ligts days are over

Burn it or set it out for garbage pickup.

Reminds me of the C5 body kits for C4s, except this one would be taking a step back a gen. Kind of weird. I don't know, those that didn't like the tail lights also didn't like the rest of the busy-by-comparison rear in the C6 vs C7 department. Have you considered just doing a C6 bumper adaptation to the rear of the C7?
I like both rear end designs but I'm glad to see a new styling direction going away from "The Slab". Outside the Corvette community, that was the number one complaint I always noticed. "Looks like the designers just gave up and cut the rear off the clay molding and called it a day." |
I was not happy with the new tail light design (and no I never thought they were from the Camaro) until yesterday when I saw two new C7 at a Corvette I was at. They really work with the new design. They may be a few takers on the conversion, but I think the vast majority will stick to the factory design

For those that want it.....

I think it will look great, and this is the way the C7 should have been designed. I want to see this installed on a car.
However, it was not designed this way, and the existing tall lights are fine with me. Not a big enough deal to change them. I just think the round tall lights would have made it have more of a Corvette family resemblance, but I am ok with a fresh, new look, too. |
Kill it with fire

Hmmmm......how to make your new generation Stingray look like a dated C6......pass.

Round tail lights just throw off the rest of the new body style. To each his own though...hopefully you'll sell a gazillion and make people like me look like the fool. |
Wonder if the Ferrari guys were this up in arms they no longer had "Four round tail lights" on the Italia. Quick, someone do a F430 rear bumper conversion.

Vents?

Looks like they can't win. After about 5 million people said they hated the "Camaro" tail lights, now you try to offer them an alternative and everyone says it's a step backwards.
