C7 or C6 ZR-1

Which car would you buy a new C7 say for $70k or a used ZR-1 for $70k

Lets see where this topic leads.

As long as everyone agrees in all regards everything should be just fine. Wait...

Agreed... I know a turbo kit/tune/support mods will easily surpassed the performance of the stock C6 ZR1. C7 is a better car all around stock vs stock but just not as quick as the ZR1. Now if the ZR1 has aftermarket interior and widebody then it's a whole new ball game.

LMAO. Are you shiiting me?? No brainer. A ZR-1 would smoke a C7 in reverse

Paulchristian 10-18-2013 08:03 PM

C6 ZR1 hands down and 50 times on Sunday

With all due respect, here is a stock ZR1. Notice anything about width?

I was referring to an aftermarket widebody like this one.http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y257/bluert/20.jpg

Not every 14 owner knows what a ZR1 is. I know the nice gentleman I met yesterday didn't. Sitting side by side at a light I commented on his beautiful silver vette (really does have a nice profile especially when sitting at eye level)He thanked me and said mine looks kinda different. :yesnod: Light turned green, conversation ended.

Now THAT is a wide body. So the stock ZR1, Z06 and GS are now skinny with skinny tires and the base is now scrawny with scrawny tires. That is how we do it around here--- make fun of, and demean, each other at every possible opportunity.

R&L's C6 10-18-2013 08:26 PM

C7 without a doubt. :yesnod:

At the end of the day, the ZR1 is just another obsolete C6...:hide:

pietro c7 10-18-2013 08:30 PM

ZR1 all the time....unless its your daily driver.

^ Stop that . . . or I'm taking your fender away :flag:

Jes007 10-18-2013 08:41 PM

come on guys, the c7 is the best corvette up to date in every aspect... you want more power to match a zr1, mod the engine...

I believe linfelter (dont know the real spelling) already got 502whp so with 15% your looking at almost 580 hp already.. its just a matter of time before they get more than 638 hp to beat the ZR1... :D

plus, the C6 is ugly!! :hide:

mnavarro 10-18-2013 08:41 PM

+1 ZR1... the C7 will be seeing the better back end :) Particularly now with z51/MR constraints.

JeffInDFW 10-18-2013 08:47 PM

In 1968, would you have taken the sexy new 1968 Corvette with its cool new interior and sexy new body with the base 350 engine.....Or, would you have chosen the outdated, old 1967 L88 427?

65vette396 10-18-2013 08:50 PM

I sold my 2011 ZR1 to buy the C7. I did it for looks and upgraded interior, not for power. The ZR1 was easy to drive and could smoke the tires at 60 mph. the C7 can't touch that kind of power if that's what you're after. Much lower production as well so maybe the depreciation will slow and pricing on the ZR's will stablize.

So just so we're clear, the brakes, engine, max tire/wheel size, and trans/diff/axles are better on the C7 right?
