Forced Induction engine reliability list
I saw this on anther forum and felt it would be good information to start gathering here. How many times do we see threads every week of people asking what power level is safe, how much boost to run on X setup etc.
This will be a two part post, one section for stock bottom end forced induction engines, and built forced induction engines. (Please specify any internal engine modifications done that may help reinforce the engine. IE: Heads were ported, were valved done? Cam was installed, were springs, or retainers? Etc...) Format for post: - Type of forced induction (Turbo, supercharger, nitrous, and what type of turbo(s) and blower where applicable) - PSI of boost you're running, or shot size with nitrous - RWHP/ RWTQ - What engine? (LS2/LS3/LS7) If built and different, what engine? - Miles on the car at install (Or since engine was built?) - Miles on the car now (If engine was hurt, and re-built - mileage of when the incident occurred) - If the engine was hurt, what failed? - Type of fuel (93 pump, meth, race gas etc.) - Transmission (A4, A6, M6 etc..) - Degrees of timing - Mod list (Won't be listed, but users can see individual posts) - How do you use your car? Street use only, show car, track car, autocross car etc. To find out how well these builds are working it's best to see how hard people are on their cars. Another words how are you "using" your new found power? (This won't be listed, but it will be good information for users to read to see how "hard" cars are being ran) As time progresses please update your information on current mileage if it's enough worth noting, if anything fails etc. etc. Feedback is welcomed, this is for everyone not just me so please be involved in this thread. If you feel more information needs to be included in this initial post just let me know, or if you have any suggestions on how to format the post etc. Stock bottom end list: Member | Turbo/Supercharged | Boost | RWHP | RWTQ | Engine | Mileage at install | Current Mileage | What failed (Where applicable) | Fuel | Trans type | Degrees of timing z06-tt | DKT TTz | 8.5 lbs | 816 | 843 | LS7 | 18k | 21k | N/A | E85 | M6 | Slowsome Supercharged (ECS Novi 2200) | 12psi | 765 | 678 | LS3 | 6k | 12K | N/A | 93 + Meth | M6 Slowsome Supercharged (ECS Novi 2200) | 12psi | 765 | 678 | LS3 | 17K | 20K | N/A | 93 + Meth | M6 Detoxx03 Supercharged (D1SC) | 9.5 lbs | 764 | 635 | LS3 | 44k | 64k | N/A | 93 + Meth | M6 gregs94 Supercharged (D1SC) | 11 lbs | 755 | 657 | LS7 | 2.3k | 3.9k | N/A | 93 + Meth | M6 cols95ta Supercharged (Novi 1500) | 8 lbs | 747 | 680 | LS7 | 10k | 14k | N/A | 91 + Meth | M6 lt1z Supercharged (A&A V3) | 11 lbs | 743 | 642 | LS3 | 18k | 22k | N/A | 100 | M6 Fordracer9 Supercharged (ECS Novi 1500) | 15 lbs | 726 | 692 | LS3 | 1.5k | 4.5k | N/A | 93 + Meth | A6 Slow-Poc Supercharged (A&A D1) | 9 lbs | 652 | 555 | LS3 | 15.8k | 29k | N/A | 93 + Meth | M6 Slow-Poc Supercharged (A&A D1) + Nitrous | 9 lbs | 733 | 650 | LS3 | 24k | 29k | N/A | 93 + Meth | M6 | jon6.0 Supercharged (A&A T-trim) | 12 lbs | 719 | 618 | LS3 | 24k | 28k | N/A | E85 + Meth | M6 | 15* Streek14 Supercharged (A&A T-trim) | 10.7 lbs | 706 | 622 | LS3 | 15k | 23k | N/A | 91 + Meth | M6 Le Mans C6 Supercharged (ECS Novi 1500) | 14 lbs | 676 | 609 | LS2 | 27k | 38k | N/A | 93 + Meth | A6 blacklsx Supercharged (ECS Novi 1500) | 8.5 lbs | 669 | 629 | LS3 | 4.8k | 6.2k | N/A | E85 | M6 old motorhead Supercharged (TVS2300) | 9lbs | 650 | 590 | LS3 | 12k | 44k | N/A | 93 | M6 Devlish34 Supercharged (A&A V3) | 12 lbs | 644 | 580 | LS2 | 48k | 53k | N/A | 93 + Meth | M6 ZoLOW Supercharged (A&A T-Trim) |8 lbs | 647 | 565 | LS3 | 25k | 31.5k | N/A | 91 | M6 D&C vette Supercharged (ECS Novi 1500) |8 lbs | 610 | 589 | LS2 | 75k | 82k | N/A | 93 | M6 | Cam Z06ish Supercharged (ECS Novi 1500) | 9 lbs | 605 | 571 | LS2 | 12k | 39k | N/A | 93 | A4 mlt Supercharged (E-Force) | 9 lbs | 603 | 575 | LS7 | Unlisted | 12k | N/A | M6 realcanuk Supercharged (E-Force) | 12 lbs | 600 | Unlisted | LS2 | 15k | 30k | N/A | Unlisted | Unlisted | Kadorja Supercharged (P-1SC-1) | 7.2 lbs | 552 | 494 | LS3 | Unknown | 15k (At failure) | 93 + Alcohol | M6 | (See what failed for mods) eboggs_jkvl Supercharged (E-Force) | 10.9 lbs | 538 | 502 | LS2 | 32k | 56k | N/A | 93 | M6 383 Supercharged (E-Force) | 9 lbs | 525 | 500 | LS2 | 46k (at 6 lbs) 49k (at 9 lbs) | 52k | N/A | 93 | M6 | 10 Degrees VetteAwe Supercharged (Vortech V2) | 8 lbs | 515 | 467 | LS2 | 25k | 83k | N/A | 91 | M6 85mcss Supercharged (Callaway MP112) | 6 lbs | 490 | 490 | LS2 | 24k | 30k | N/A | 91 + Meth | M6 Callaway Chris Supercharged (Callaway SC606) | 7lbs | (SAE not rear wheel) 606hp 553 tq | LS3 | Brand new | 181k | N/A | 91-93 | M6 Modified bottom end engine list: Member | Turbo/Supercharged | Boost | RWHP | RWTQ | Engine | Mileage at install | Current Mileage | What failed (Where applicable) | Fuel | Trans Type | Internal Bottom End Engine modifications | Degrees of timing inspector12 Twin Turbo | 22 lbs | | 1089 | 1063 | LS2 | ~7K on engine | ~5k since engine swap | N/A | 93 + Meth | 16* | Sleeved LS2 block 427CI Brodix heads Slowsome Supercharged (ECS YSI) | 20psi | 973 | 852 | LS3 416 | 12K | 17K | Head gasket failure took out block| 93 W/ Meth | M6 winters97gt Supercharged (ECS Novi 1500) | 13 lbs | 850 | 800 | LS2 (402ci) | Not listed | 3k | N/A | Pump + Meth | M6 realcanuk Supercharged (E-Force) | 12 lbs | 724 | Unlisted | LME LS402 | Unlisted | 3k | N/A | Unlisted | Unlisted | LME LS402 short block, WCCH 245 heads, cam, etc. Kadorja (New build) Supercharged (P-1SC-1) | 10 lbs | 664 | 590 | LS3 | 15k | 20k (At failure) | N/A | 93 + Alcohol | M6 | Steel lunati con rods, weisco forged -2.2 cc pistons, texas speed blower cam, texas speed pushrod and valve spring set |

Admin: Is is possible to edit the thread name to "Forced induction engine reliability list"? and maybe a sticky?
Thanks, I changed it from boost only to forced induction in general. |

The biggest question on longevity is how hard do you run your car?? 600-700-800whp could last for years depending on how you use it..

But you brought up a good point so I will edit the first post to see if we can't get some more information posted with their setup on how they use their cars. Personally I use mine mainly on the street, some track time a couple times a year but not big into the track. I don't have 10k hard miles but they aren't exactly babied either :leaving: |
