Lt1 cam reground to LT4 hot cam
1 Attachment(s)
Hi Everyone, Happy Hollidays. I have a cam that was sent to Delta camshaft to be ground to a LT4 Hot Cam? It is stamped GMPT BC 15-242 pn the inside of cam between lobes. The 17th lobe is ground down to hardly anything. I believe that this is the fuel lobe? Any info would be helpfully. Thanks John:cool:

yes thats for the fuel pump eccentric.

Fuel pump lobe
So with that being said! Is this going to work with the LT4 SBC corvette engine? I think that the cam was out of a Z28 1995-96 or maybe a Impala? Thanks John.

Sure they used electric fuel pumps

Cam
O.K. Thanks for you help! Happy hollidays John.

I would only like to say one thing here. I'm under the impression they can redo duration and lift, but cannot change the lobe seperation angle? Therefore, it is not the exact grinf of the hotcam, because they have a different lsa.

How can they increase duration? An LT1 cam is something like 203/207 while a hotcam is longer with more lift. 218/228

Better off just buying the cam. I imagine they aren't too expensive.

I don't know about GENI &II engines, but on GenIII&IV, you have to run longer pushrods to achieve the lift.

Quick question, not trying to hijack this thread but what gen is the L98?

Okay cool thanks. I was hoping my pushrods could have been part of the reason that I am not getting full power out of my cam but I guess it's just my stupid iron heads. Haha.
