I used to modify to personalize and improve performance but the C6 has always been more Car then I'll ever use and modifications hurt resell with most buyers. I do like a good exhaust note though and tend to install cat-backs.

When I was younger, I modified almost all of my Vettes to make them go faster and compete with my gear head friends, doing the same thing. We were all younger and reckless and probably broke a lot of laws doing so. Having said that, my 07', right out of the box, is faster than all, but, one. I have no desire to add any speed to it. It's fast enough for me and handles better than any previous ones I've owned. I've done a little cosmetics, but, that's it. I have no problem with those that do. It's their Vette, after all, not mine. My LS2 suits me perfectly and I'm happy with it.

If I lived close to sea level I would be totally content with my C6. But living at 7,000 feet sucks away about 90 hp. Most likely I'll have a SC installed when the warranty is up.

I love my "stock" 2008 c6 A6 with NPP, all options except Z51.

The op says he thinks his 2010 intake is restrictive, its NOT the airbox thats restrictive, its the filter that is a solid block of media. The airbox on my 08 is open , not enclosed like c5's. The block filter is 4" x 13 3/8" x 5" deep.

I replaced the oem filter with an ATTACK BLUE high flow replacement filter from TKO PERFORMANCE, a great vendor here on the forum. That and a dyno tune done by HORSEPOWER SALES in Pompano Beach,Florida, another great vendor here, and my car dyno'd 386 rwhp, not bad for filter and tune only, especially on an automatic.

Is my bone stock ? No, but, I would call it stock, filter and tune doesnt seem like a modified car to me.

Before filter and tune, i drove straight for CarMax, where I bought it, to PBIR, the old Moroso in west palm beach,florida.

Runflats, a6, "bbbone stock", i ran a12.89@112.73, not great et but strong mph.

The white paper numbers would put 112.73mph in the high 11 second range. Now with filter and tune, I think it'll run mid 11's, low 11's on drag radials.

I was extremely happy with a 12 second C6 automatic, but the filter and tune really woke the car up.

I love my stock C6.

I have a narrow body, mostly stock except a Vararam.
Plenty enough power for me. I don't race, but it's nice to have that torque and HP when you need it.
I'm very happy with the Base.

My vette is an 08 Z51, stock is definitely fast enough for me...I recently had my first track day and wow the car performed great! I would definitely recommend the track for WOT fun without having to worry about cops or hurting others...if I ever have the desire for more power I'd probably go with a Z06 before modding this car...:cheers:

I have owned 'vettes since I was 17. I modded a few of them and went nuts building a barely street-able Z28. Now as I am much older I have no heart or desire for modding other than a nice exhaust sound fitting of the C6 or a mild cosmetic improvement here and there. In addition, times have changed so much that there are very serious consequences if involved in non-sanctioned speed efforts. For certain, I would love to have a blower on my LS motor, but what the hell could I do with it..!! Most drag strips here are gone and street racing is for the insane or the stupid rice burner crowd.

I was very happy with the stock C6. That said I'm much happier with my highly modified C6 (especially for how I use the car).

I like my car stock and plan on leaving it that way. I might put a K&N filter in the stock airbox but won't be adding a CAI as the stock air box looks like it draws air ahead of the radiator even though I understand the intake opening is restrictive but stock it still makes 436 and drives great! I haven't noticed any drive ability issues with the engine response. I feel GM did a great job of making sure all the components as a package work great together.

Once you start changing things it always affects something else and then you have to make more changes to get it all to work right together. To me the car is not a drag racer although I will try it at the strip and since it's not a grand sport it won't perform on the track like a GS but for what I plan on doing with the car it is a great performing balanced package. I like road trips and mountain roads.

How many others are content to enjoy the car the way it is? If I wanted something faster I would have bought the Z06. And I would leave that stock too.

In my opinion there are two classes of Corvette owners. People who actually use their car and people who don't use their car but like to sit next to them and brag about how great the performance is. You fit into the minority group of people (some times called RACERS:thumbs:) who actually use their cars. You know the performance you have available and enjoy it. If you ever decide to mod the car to improve performance I believe it will be because you want to experience a lower ET at the strip or push the car to a higher top speed at some event. The other group some times called WAXERS:ack: are just a mystery to me.

I'm not happy with Stock anything! But the 427 will not be modded with anything but cosmetic enhancements

I saw the warning labels online, google it.
