Finally it's my turn! My AW Z51 has arrived! Let the fun & mods begin. My mod thread

Edit: This thread will serve as my build/mod thread. I will continue to add to it as I personalize my car. So it begins here:

Today was my big day! After months of waiting and anticipation, I finally have my new C7. First. thank you to Dave and Amoni at Kerbeck for making this a very easy purchase. I bought the car while it was in transit to them from GM so I had a bit of a wait for it to arrive there and a 11 day wait once my carrier picked it up nearly a week after Kerbeck received it. As many of you may recall, I cancelled my order with my local dealer as I would have been waiting until summer contrary to what they originally told me when I placed my order. They were kind enough to refund my deposit which I knew would not be an issue and they were very understanding as well.

Now onto the car. It's a 2LT Z51 with manual trans, Comp seats, carbon flash mirrors and spoiler, red calipers, mag ride, NPP performance exhaust, black interior, Navigation etc. It arrived around 11AM today and I've already installed my splash guards and trunk shade. Saturday it will get the windows tinted and my stinger stripe from VetteFx will also get put on. I also plan on lowering it Saturday all the way down on the stock bolt as well as installing the skip shift eliminator. Both of which will be done by me in my driveway.

A week from Monday my K40 concealed Radar Detector and laser diffusers will get installed and at the same time I will be installing the carbon fiber FAY option dash which is sitting on my desk. I ordered that from one of our forum sponsors for much less than it would have cost from the factory. I've used K40 for well over 15 years now and their concealed detectors have saved my countless times. I decided to stick with what I've had great success with. I thought about the Escort 9500 concealed one and would have gone that route had Dashtronix given me a glimmer of hope regarding C7 support but they don't return calls, emails or PM's. A true shame as they would have gotten my business. Oh well, business must be great enough to ignore future customers f unless they don't have a pulse anymore. Shame they don't respond.

I've only put about 45 miles on it since it arrived but I am very pleased and I no longer miss my 09 Z06 that I sold a couple months ago in anticipation of the new car. I can honestly say this car handles as well if not better than my Z06 did with it's custom valved DRM built Bilstein shocks. I've only been able to hit a couple high speed turns but in track mode, there is absolutely no body roll what so ever. It corners like it's on rails. This is my first Mag Ride car and I think I'm really going to love this option! As for power, it pulls like a freight train all the way up to it's 4500 RPM break in redline. Yes, I am following the break in suggested by the factory.

The car has a lot of gadgets and I spent some time reading the manual before it arrived and found my head spinning from all the information. That said, the cars controls are very intuitive and I was able to figure out most things on my own by dumb thumbing my way through the menus and controls.

The stereo kind of surprised me. I've always upgraded my stereos with aftermarket head units, amps and speakers. So far I am pleasantly surprised. It's loud with decent bass, decent highs, mids and surprisingly good staging. My iphone hooked right up and was able to access all my music without a hitch.

When I first got in the car, the comp seats seemed kind of firm but after getting them adjusted properly, I was pleasantly surprised with their comfort. Comp seats were never on my short list of items that I really wanted but I can honestly say I am glad this car has them. Not only do they look great and really hold you in place but they are also very comfortable for me. For reference, I'm 5'6" and 155 pounds so I'm certainly not a big fellow.

This Sunday I will be taking a run to Supercar Sunday followed by a spirited drive through the canyons down to the coast at which point I will have a much better feel for the car. That said, thus far, I am very pleased! I even saw 36MPG on the freeway at 70MPH which was a pleasant surprise. Oh and for those concerned about Eco Mode, DON'T be! It's transparent. You don't even notice it short of the V4 symbol on the dash. It's completely unobtrusive and transparent.

This thread will serve as my build/mod thread so I will continue to update it as I progress with my mods. Still to come are also side skirts and a splitter so stay tuned.

Now for some pictures.
