Any C6 owners between the ages of 26 & 31?

I'd like to compare insurance info. I understand your driving record as well as location will be a factor. Not to mention what coverage you opted for. Here is mine, and I feel it could be lower.

I'll start:

29yrs old here.
Located in the South Central US.
My city has a population of 1190 (small, yes) w/ very low crime rate.

My driving record is:
-driving with improper equipment (my window tint was limo tinted)
-Suspended license (I traveled outside the US on business after I got the window ticket and forgot to pay it. Resulted in suspended license)
-Expired tags (when I was away on business I forgot to renew my tags, was pulled over for expired tags)

All 3 of the above happened within the past 12 months. All 3 have been remedied and payed for. And all 3 are being worked on to get expunged. I have written a letter to the judge for attempted expungement. Waiting on reply.

My vehicle is a 2009 Chevy Corvette 3LT with every option except magnetic ride and z51

My quote is through geico and costs a total of $210 per month. $1232 every 6 months. Below is what I have:

Bodily Injury Liability: $50k/$100k
Property Damage Liability: $50k
Lost Earnings: $400 per week
Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury: $50k/$100k
Uninsured Motorist Property Damage $25k/$200 deductible
Underinsured Motorist: $25k/50k
Comprehensive(COMP): $500 deductible
Collision(COLL): $1000 deductible
Emergency Road Service: (YES)
Rental Reimbursement: $30 per day

Comp and Collision are eating my lunch :( but I'd hate to increase either of them.

With your deductibles, the insurance is way too much. You're being robbed!! 15 minutes didn't save you 15%!

I'm 25 with an 09 base coupe. Metropolitan St. Louis/rural area here.

Homeowner, multi vehicle discount, no tickets or wrecks. $71 a month for full coverage. I don't have the specifics on hand but I know that I have maximum coverage on most areas.

Skatenc123 02-06-2014 01:52 AM

I'm 24 in North Carolina. I have maximum everything and 3 points on my license currently. Mine is 159 month with geico on the corvette. I have 2 cars on mine 09 base corvette and an 03 325i and home owners on my townhome some get a multi discount. On the other end my brother has a 2010 cts-v and 2012 srx and pays a whopping 118 dollars for full coverage on both.

31 from Ohio. It's a little hard to decipher how much insurance is for me personally since my wife has been in 3 at-fault accidents in the last two years as well as 2 tickets. That said, I only have one ticket on file. Regardless, our rates are (expectedly) very high.

Anyhow, for a 2009 Rav4 and 2006 Subaru Legacy GT both with $250 deductibles all around, we are paying $212 a month. THEN through NCM, we have the Vette insured @ $670 a year. Vette would have been only $480 if I werent married to the person with all the accidents on record, but since she lives in the same household as me they had to list her as a driver, therefore the rates had to be raised because of her.

In fall of 2015, everything current on both of our records will be falling off, and we have been quoted an estimate of $110/month for the two vehicles and about $350/yr for the Corvette.

I'm not in your age range, but my guess is that with a clean record it should drop to about $100 a month.

Also, you might want to get a quote from Nationwide, AAA and others for comparison.

Drocay 02-06-2014 09:30 AM

27 same coverage as you, $120.00/Month through progressive.

JAvery20 02-06-2014 11:47 AM

Very tough to do this since insurance varies so much by state. I know KY, MI, and Florida fight over who gets ripped off more :crazy2:

For example, Ohio pays about 40% of what Michigan pays.

I would try essurance. I am 30 w/ 0 points but have 2 cars, pay 170 or so. I have paid less w/ a worse record before through geico and essurance.

I highly doubt my insurance would be over 90 in Ohio. I would list what state you are in and hopefully another member can chime in.

27, house, 2 cars (vette is a "pleasure vehicle"). Pay 120 a month or so. I have lower deductibles and higher coberage than you as well. No violations at all.

I think you need to shop around.

It's not just driving record that affects insurance, credit rating plays a big role nowadays.

25 here with a 2011 Grand Sport. I've got 2 cars and renters insurance on my policy. The GS is $103/mo with pretty much identical coverage to you on State Farm. Although, I've received a quote from Geico that is the same price but a lower deductible on the comp. So I might be switching to them soon...

Pfadt Racing 02-06-2014 03:09 PM

My z06 had me at 140 I think with full similar coverage when I was about 29-30

crAzy 02-06-2014 03:22 PM

28 in a 2006 Z06 with State Farm.

At fault claim in 2009 (Edit: Just called insurance and this is off my record now since it's been 3 years)
At fault claim in 2011
Hit and run in 2013
Comprehensive claim from a tow truck company who damaged my car towing it 2013

$220 a month full coverage. I think I have the basic bodily coverage. $500 deductible, $250 uninsured motorist, free towing, $30 rental.

Since i have owned two Z06s, one C5 and one C6) the lowest I ever had my insurance was $180 per month. I live in a large city (75K people or so). A suburb south west of Houston.

I tried other places and a lot of them won't even insure my car lol.

tmccowan 02-06-2014 03:51 PM

Just turned 32, but my insurance hasn't changed. I'm right outside Charlotte, NC

Geez...I pay $1270 every 6 months for full coverage top tier insurance, $250 deductible for 3 vehicles all together. Been paying that since I was 30...currently 32 years old.

You might want to keep shopping around...

Just turned 28. Insured with progressive. Driving record was horrible from many speeding tickets. It is now clean. $165.00 month. That's with multi vehicle discount. Also home owner, motorcycle, Silverado and boat. $165.00 for 05 Z51 plus $170.00 for 07 Silverado that has been paid for. I have no clue why I pay more for the truck. I live in Louisiana.

tac328 02-06-2014 04:22 PM

Definitely shop around and try to get those infractions expunged. I'm paying ~550 6months, 27 homeowner and other toys insured with progressive.

Petrolburner 02-06-2014 04:24 PM

29 years old, great credit and driving history 05 Z51 and I pay $421.80 for 6 months ($70.30 per month) and full coverage, $1000 deductible.

Nosferatu 02-06-2014 04:42 PM

codyc24 02-06-2014 04:47 PM
