1963 C2 on a C4 chasis w/ ZR-1 motor

The Corvette Club meeting last Saturday morning is where I saw this car. It has 200 miles. A C4 frame and suspension with a ZR-1 motor. C5 seats. The owner of the shop started the car up much to my amazement. A very cool oddity. Selling price well you guess and I will say after a few.

C2 Restomod with an LT5 is very

Probably priced north of $130,000 though.

63

Not sure if that's the same one or not, but I think there's a Youtube out there on that car, or one very much like it.

I'd give my left nut for that car. You only need one anyway, right ??:hide::hide:

Paul Workman 03-03-2014 12:35 PM

IMO, the only way that could be improved is if it were a 63 SWC for that combination...and I'd want for nothing else in this life:smash: But waaaay:cool regardless:!!:yesnod:

I thought I had seen snapshots of that car earlier and it might have been a "split-window" and sported a AZ tag "63-LT5". In the OP's snapshots you can't really see the rear vision(s). Did the car also have a later hood?

MavsAK 03-03-2014 12:57 PM

Now THAT is a C2 I'd want to own.

I believe to the aficionados it's a "Mid-Year"! I believe I heard an owner "correct" someone in the vicinity of one at a local show here a long while back.

Regardless it's certainly quite a piece but most of those mid-years are quite nice regardless of resto-rod "status" a driver or a restored original piece.

Sweet! Do i win it If I guess correctly?.... 150K

Looks to be a 63 to me. Windshield trim, roof louvers, early doors, 63-64 style door panels, etc. Can't see the split but probably there.

You are right its a 1963 split window. The frame is a custom frame made by Street Shop Inc. The suspension is C4 and motor / transmission LT-5. The asking price is $179,000.

Beautiful just beautiful...what more can you say?..other than wishing it was in your own garage.

shakedown067 03-03-2014 04:04 PM

God I'd love to hear what that sounds like with the side pipes!

Dominic Sorresso 03-03-2014 05:33 PM

That would definitely surprise the crap out of some ricer.

Nice Vette but: If I were able to drop 179K on a ride I could probably add a few $$ & score a 458 Ferrari.

Why?

That '63 would run circles around a 458...and look cool doing it!

You can see 458's everywhere...not so with a full custom '63 with an LT5 and C4 suspension.

The car is on display at Corvette Performance in Scottsdale AZ. It was built by a guy in Tucson. That is about all I know but you can call the store if you have any questions. I have tried to post the video from my cell but the site won't unload it. I have to guess that those headers were custom made. They have a curve that goes to the side pipe and just looks cool man. I don't know any details about the LT-5 ? I can say with certainty it was more than likely taken apart and put back to together again. Has anyone heard of that custom frame shop Street Shop Inc ?

They are quite well known and in Alabama:

Some prefer the SRiii chassis:

There are of course others.
