Can you lift a C3 with side pipes on a 2-post lift?
I'm thinking of putting Hooker-style side pipes on my 74 BB but want to understand all the pros and cons before I pull the trigger. On a 2-post lift, the front lifting pad goes on the frame behind the front wheel. Will the side pipes be in the way?

Depends on the lift. The pads on my AutoLifter 9000 screw up/down and in the up position, they should clear the sidepipes. I also have verticle extensions for vehicles with high mounted frames if they don't screw up high enough. But then, mine is a truck lift.

Yes, you should have no issues. It was never an issue when I had Hookers or OEM side exhaust.

Used to do it all the time at my brother's shop in Santa Cruz, CA (Comprehensive Mechanics). But it makes sense it depends on the lift.

77C3, now that is really unique. Cool. I assume to not stress frame or suspension?

Mostly it's just easier. When I need the arms, it lifts off easily

It would be easier and less expensive with a 4-post lift. What's the benefit of using a 2-post lift, if you have to build rails for the car to sit on?
[not trying to be a smart-a$$; just trying to understand the logic] |
Works better for me. That's the logic! I store the car in the shop. In the winter I need the floor space. Much more usable space with the two post. I have 5'10" at the bottom of the platform,I'm 5'8",No head banging.. In the summer, I remove the platform, park the car on the floor. If I need the floor space for the day ,move the car outside with a cover.

I had many a side pipe car on my 2 post lift. Never an issue. I had to use different length extenders but it was never a problem.

i had a 2 post lift. never a problem . I've used some 2x4 blocks for a bit more clearance.
