Hi, I'm new to the Corvette Forum. I'm looking to sell my 1970 Corvette, I've owned this Corvette for 30 years. It was completely stock when I bought it 1984 so I can really tell you everything you want to know about it. I'm selling it because I want to buy a newer Corvette... a 2010-2012 Grand Sport.

I'm asking 47,500.

More pictures availble...

Here are some more pictures of my Corvette that I'm selling. Click on the link below.

Also, I'm not very good at posting... i'm just learning how to do this so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

Wooooow  What a great car!
What kind of wheels are on the car?

rponfick 03-17-2014 10:43 AM

That is impressive.

Wow. Oh my gosh...that is a breath-taking car.

Love the interior. Very trick, but not overly disrespectful to the orginal theme. Really cool.

I'm also very interested to know what type of wheels those are...been looking high and low.

Holy **** nice grocery getter!!!

The thread title doesn't prepare you for what you are about to see. That is wicked.

Thanks for all the nice comments!

The wheels are Caroll Shelby "Mini-Europa" 15x8.5 I bought these wheels new in 1984... they stopped production of them that year, it took me about three months to find these. Supposedly these were one of the last couple of new sets that were still around back then.

As far as the interior and the overall idea of what I envisioned for the corvette... I love Corvettes and I think the designers created a beautiful car that stands the test of time. I wanted to take that beautiful design and styling and simply add a little of my own style. My interior in my opinion is just a bit of enhancement to the original design. I wanted to complement it and not redesign it. The body of the car has no modifications except the hood... which is a reproduction hood that I cut for the blower. I do have the original hood that I had painted the same time I had the car painted. Feel fee to ask any questions, I love to talk about Corvettes!

By the way, I've been looking around on the "For Sale C6 forum" and what the heck is a "Bump?" Does it move your post to the top? Like I said, I'm new to this forum stuff.

Also, I wanted to get an idea on what you guys think of the "Asking Price" for my car? Does it sound like a reasonable price to you? be honest, you won't hurt my feeling or offend me.

Is it OK to ask that here in this section?

zet06 03-18-2014 05:20 AM

lets do a bump and wow what wheels !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Slow Z06 03-18-2014 10:13 AM

Sorry if I missed it but what power does it make? Nice car BTW

A "bump" is a post for the simple objective of getting this particular thread back to the top of the forum given that threads are generally sorted by latest activity. Some forums frown on bumps or "ttt" (To The Top) posts, but this one seems just fine with them.

As far as price, I think it is OK for you to accept lower prices so long as you have stated your expection. An open "what would you pay" poll would raise the ire of the Moderators, so I'd tread lightly on that one...

Your car is pretty far out of the box. If you can connect with the right buyer, then the price is perfectly justified. Others seeking to spend that type of money, though, could also want/get a new C7 or a VERY nice, possibly even flighted, C3 that is stock, stock, and more stock. Neither is my cup of tea, though, so you have a fan in me...

You OBVIOUSLY spent a great deal of time, money, and care on this car. I've seen some "bubbafied" cars and this is NOT one. 100% first class. Very, very, very nice. It's worth whatever it's worth to you and whatever someone else will pay for it. Just need to find the right audience.

I really hope you connect with the right person, though. Very special vehicle.

You're not sneaking that one home late! Beautiful, good luck with the sale.

Wheel info on Corvette...

1 Attachment(s)
Well it seems like you guys like the wheels that I have on the Corvette. They are...

Caroll Shelby Mini Europa wheels 15x8.8

They are a street version of the style of wheels that a lot of IMSA/Road Racing Corvettes used back in the 70's and 80's.

I included a link:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Ca...3D171114347088

to a set on ebay. I have different center caps than normal but the wheels on eBay are the same... i don't know if the bolt spacing or the back spacing is correct for corvettes.

A little info on the engine/transmission

About the engine...

355 LT-1 Block

Custom built 2:02 heads

Weiand 6-71 supercharger

2 x 650 CFM Holley Carbs. Custom built by Blower Drive Service. They each flow 700 CFM now

Blower Drive Service Stage 3 cam package (power band for this cam/package is 3500 to 7000 rpm)

Computer estimated horsepower from Blower Drive Service is 629HP@6500RPM

seriously, It pulls hard throughout the entire RPM range... it never falls flat like a naturally aspirated engine. That is the reason for the big AutoMeter tach and shift light. I cant watch the rpm's and the road at the same time. The shift light comes on at 6400rpm and that's when I shift... probably making the shift by 6700rpm. it loves it there but you need to run about 50/50 mix of race gas and pump gas if you're going to play around like that otherwise it will run on Premium pump gas all day long.

Transmission...

The original Turbo 400 from the car, custom built... includes

3500 pro built 10" stall converter

B&M shift Kit

Rear-end gears are 3:90

lurch59 03-22-2014 09:24 AM

3.90 gears? Is that a stock ratio, or has the diff been modified?

It is a stock housing with different gears.

Originally the car came with 3:08 gears, The 3:90 gears were the lowest ration I could use without modifying the housing.

stingraymannn 09-11-2014 12:40 AM

Price Reduction... Asking $39.500.

I've lowered the price for my Corvette. I'm ready to sell so if you're interested contact me. Thanks

Absolutely stunning car. Given what I've seen cars going for at auctions etc. this looks to be an excellent deal for someone. Good luck with your sale.

Adam
