How much does a c4 weigh?
 

Lets say 1/2 tank of gas and 180 lb. driver?

Depends on the year and model.

My '87 coupe is 3365 with me and 1/3 tank of gas in it.

Sat. with 1/3 tank of fuel I was launching at 3,350lbs; I weigh 165.

So, I would estimate your setup at 3,385lbs (+15lbs driver & +20lbs fuel).

MAN! my c4 weighs pretty much the same as a z06?! i thought c5's were supposed to be lighter?

1990 Coupe, I weigh 160 with a half tank and me in it, 3350 Full Tank 3425 :U and I still did 116 in the 1/4!

My '88 vert weighs 3400 with just under 1/4 tank and 160 lbs me, with spare tire.

My fully optioned Vert, with the auxillary hardtop installed and ~ 1/3 tank of fuel weighed in at 3,410 lbs at LACR, that is without me inside.

I weighed my LT4 with 1/2 tank of gas. It has the spare tire delete and without me in it it weighed 3285.

I did mine just before Thomas' at LACR.

For the 93 I see Coupe (3,317) Vert (3,358) ZR1 (3,503). No stats for this topic on the 94 where I got this info.

CURB WEIGHT
The curb weight of a vehicle is the weight of an unmanned vehicle with fuel, oil coolant and all standard equipment installed.

This will all depend on your options. The best method is go to the track and jump on the scale if they have one. My 87 curb weight is supposed to be 3325 but I have bare minimum options ( I don't even have power locks) and have taken out the spare tire/jack and the vanity mirrors bringing the curb weight down to 3150 w/o driver.

Well hell, mine is a pig! It weighs 3420 with me in the drivers seat (240), full bottle o' Nitrous, roll bar and side bars installed and 3/4 tank of gas.

Oh, but my spare tire and carrier are not installed ;).

C4's generally are between 3200 and 3500+ depending on what year and car. The early C4's are the lightest (as evidenced by the postings in this thread) , some down in the low 3200 lb range full of all fluids and without a driver (totally stock). As the years went on more weight was added in more frame support , more equipment , bigger wheels tires and brakes, etc.

The latest C4's tend to weigh 3340-3380 depending on the options etc. My personal 96 LT-4 totally stock weighed 3340 lb full of all fluids and without me in it. My car is fully optioned .

ZR-1's usually range from 3450-3520 or so full of all fluids, no driver.

C5's are indeed lighter than our C4's with most loaded coupes being around 3225, most hardtops being 3175 and most Z06's 3115-3125 - again , full of all fluids , no driver.

All this is based on the numerous books I have read, magazine tests, and most importantly local track scales. Hope this helps....... :seeya

If I remember my 95 weighs 3160lbs. that's without my 240lbs AZZ. :D

My 1994 LT1 Coupe weight was 3309 without my 170 lbs. in it. 1994 was a heavy year judging by the American Cars encyclopedia, I love that fat Beast :lol:
