Why drop orange for their C7 colors?
 

Why did they drop orange, especially atomic orange? I've heard some rumors about them bringing it back for 2015. I would buy one for sure!

I would be tempted to get one, also. I'm hoping they bring it back in 2018. I'll probably be ready to get a new one by then.

I wish I knew for sure when and if they would because I'd wait if it was like 2015-16.

I LOVED my Atomic Orange 2008 Vert...it looked amazing, and the only thing I think is it came down to sales numbers...which are largely driven by dealer inventory, and they know what sells, so I suspect the few AOs that hit the road were ordered like mine.

I'd love to see it return...though I'm still scratching my head why the Green made a return before the orange?

I was going to go buy an atomic orange z06 the other weekend but decided to just spend the cash on a newer gen vette.

That lime rock green is very ugly! And yellow too... Can't decide between Laguna blue and torch red for my order, but if they had atomic orange, there'd be no choice at all!

It is because you get "a Little Orange" in every Corvette paint job... :rofl:

The 13 orange was pretty sweet. I was tempted to get one. But here's an interesting thread on potential colors on the Z06. Certainly just someone with a photoshop doing an excellent job but interesting to see the looks in so many unusual colors.

Well... Atomic Orange was 2nd lowest in exterior colors (AW was the lowest) in 2008

The poorest selling color for the last few years of the C6 run would be my guess. :thumbs:

I would love an Inferno Orange Metallic convertible with Kalahari top and interior. Great color. I have it as Ignition Orange Metallic on my wife's G8 GT. If they offer that color on a C7, my wife will have one!

Back in the 70s, GM offered orange at various times and it sold well. :thumbs: They brought it back in '05 and it sold OK, but t started to fade (sales, not the paint :D ) after a few years. :cheers:

AW is pretty popular around Vegas it seems. Its all I see besides my own CGM.

Atomic Orange would sell a LOT better on the C7... Its a more Exotic body style.. which looks good with bright / vibrant colors.

The C6 was Obsolete when the orange was offered back then anyway (Tadge words). :D Grandpa likes boring colors. J/K :)... The production numbers were low for the C6 anyway, so just about any color would look low... The C7 is a different animal. You have new buyers shopping the car from other brands that like the Exotic looks. And you have younger buyers looking to buy. The color would be much more popular on the C7. :cheers:

What are you talking about? The '05 sold more than 37,000, the '06 34,000, the '07 40,500, the '08 35,000, then the bottom fell out of the economy. :cheers:

Have you actually seen one? Or are you basing your opinion on pictures? I have yet to have anyone not complement me on the color when they are there in person. :toetap:
