C5 Corvette Performance Hood Seal now on sale at Southern Car Parts....

Corvette C5 Performance Hood Seal

Help keep dirt, debris, and water out of out of your engine compartment and off of your aftermarket intake. Many Corvette owners have after-market air intakes they fear will pull water in during rain or standing water on road. The Corvette hood seal helps avoid water being pulled through the space between your hood and the front of car. This also is an important corvette part for those who have performed the famous "zip-tie mod" and exposed their stock air cleaner to the outside. Our hood seal also reduces the amount of dirt and debris that enters your engine compartment with no increase in engine temperature.

This is an excellent mod that not only keeps dirt out of the engine bay, but is also simple to install and enhances the appearance of your Corvette...................and is cheap to-boot!

I was in the garage showing my friend the new seal and where it mounts. We opened the hood and he said - "Hey - I think there was a strip in there already that someone removed." Sure enough there appears to be some adhesive remnants where the new one will go. Can you imagine any reason why someone would have a front strip and then take it off?

No, I don't know of any reason someone would want to remove a hood seal. Maybe someone else will chime in if they know something I don't?

Thanks,
Dave

FYI, after following directions for cleaning the surface, I installed the hood seal. After about a week, the seal was separating from the surface. I purchase some strong contact cement(glue) and applied to both surfaces. Now after 6 months, all is fine.
