what movie or random thing makes you want to drive your car like you stole it?
 

everytime I watched gone in 60 seconds and driven I want to tear up the road or when I hear shoot to thrill on the radio!!!

After not driving it all week and waiting till the weekend, any empty stretch of road will do the trick. I actually enjoy hearing the car more than the radio.

Music music music does it for me. And I have AC/DC in the CD player right now speaking of shoot to thrill.

BTW, how do you keep coming up with these kind of threads ? I can't think of anything new.

Right on...that chicks a good drummer. Was a drummer for 10 years myself.

Wanted to be so badly myself, but when I went to the band assembly in sixth grade, the first thing the guy said, even before the assembly started, was, "Percussion is already full, so don't even ask." Never could get the parents to spring for it. Step-dad was not about to let that kind of noise come into his house!!!! Don't even get me started on that worthless POS!!!!!!

Dang, oh well...I got lucky I guess.

Funny, I can't remember if I just bought that used kit and brought it home...or if I asked my Dad first. He put up with it for a while though.

Then we formed a band a year or two later and practiced at my buddy's house for years. His mom was a trooper! Marshall stacks, full drum kit, etc...almost shook the house down every day and she never complained. Amazing.

Years later we were doing demo's and touring. Had lots of fun...then I suddenly had a kid on the way and had to get a "real job". LOL

Still look back on it fondly...and have demo's and some lingering "fans" posting us on blogs (which proudly reminds me there were at least 3-4 people that liked us). ;)

That is so very cool!! I'm glad you got to do it! I wasn't even thinking about being famous or anything back then, I just loved the really cool drum sounds I had heard in my favorite music and wanted to be good enough to do that kind of thing!! In these two videos, it is really cool and fun that it is a pretty girl, but honestly, it would be just as cool to watch a really good male drummer do the same kind of awesome kit work!! I can truly say that it is one of the truly pure love things that I never got the chance to do and has never faded in the least!!

It's a passion I still carry, however sadly, I haven't played in many years now. I do feel like it was a calling I somewhat "missed" as well...but at least I got to experience it.

Then again, it's never too late to start playing (with reduced/diminished expectations, that is). LOL

I got to take private lessons for a short period of time, but responsibility crowded in again and I had to stop. I thoroughly enjoyed it though and would like to do it again, given the chance. I have no room for it anymore. When I got married and moved to a new town/house, I sold a $20k DW kit that was amazing. It would be hard to sit down on anything less at this point! :(

It's funny that you should mention this as at this point I am in the best possible situation to do this kind of thing. I am renting a little house that is the only one on the block, I have a spare bedroom, and am backed up against a car dealership. If they were to ever complain about noise, the judge would laugh himself silly!! :rofl: The only problem would be finding a decent instructor two hours from Denver or any other large population center where such an instructor might live. But you are right, no reason not to try!!!! :D :thumbs:
