C6 z06 longtube (d port) on c6 ls2 install!

Ok I know many people install the stock z06 d port exhaust manifolds on c6 ls2's as an upgrade over the stock system..

How much does the "d" port shroud against the circular ls2 exhaust ports?

I'm wondering if c6 z06 LT headers will work well on the ls2 engine, am I leaving any power on the table by not using the proper circular ls2 style LT headers?

Reason I ask is because I have LG 1 7/8 c6z06 headers, or should I sell them and get ls2 specific

Either you live in California or you don't like to mod. Giving you the benefit of the doubt, but the factory Z06 exhaust manifolds won't yield any gains. Keep your current Long tube headers, 427 LT headers wondering even bolt up.

Lol let me rephrase my question, I acquired some lg 1 7/8 LT's by chance..

They happen to be "d" shaped ports..

I have not installed them yet, I would like to know if I would be leaving any power on the table using them with the d ports vs using ls2 specific 1 7/8 LT headers?

They don't shroud the port at all. The LS2 uses the same D shape

Shrouding the ports doesn't happen and doesn't matter.

The Long Tube headers will give noticeably more HP than the Z06 manifolds.

Thanks for the Info! I'm installing them!

Yes your right, I called LG and all of their super pro headers use "d" ports whether its for ls2/3/7 engines

Be sure to use Z06 gaskets to ensure a seal. The LS2 gaskets are a little smaller and could leak.

1 3/4" tubes would be better on a NA LS2, but if you already have the 1 7/8" and you're not looking for the last little bit of HP, then you're good to go.

Yes I tried my OEM gaskets and it doesn't seal the bottom of the d port well..

I originally thought they were 1 3/4 but when I got them and measured they are 1 7/8... Oh well it gives me an excuse to do a heads/cam package down the road!
