Tpw 7/28????
I scrolled through 10 pages or so of the GM Customer Service Tracking thread and didn't see any replies with a TPW of 7/28. The '14's seem to end at 7/21 (with one listed for 8/4)' and the '15's start on 8/11. With no planned shutdown, what will the plant be building from 7/28-8/8?????

Good question, wonder just how many more 2014's will be left in the pipeline. The guys at Jack Schmitt are one "birth watch" for my car. Anticipate good news today or tomorrow.
Guess my 2014 will be - One of the last and One of the first. One of the last Lime Rock Green Stingray's and one of the first ZF1's. |
I am aware of at least one perhaps two but there may be two posts about the same build.

It's worth remembering that not everyone who ordered a C7 can be accounted for by looking at the tracking thread.
|
So for all intents and purposes- the final build week for the 2014 would be the 7/21 target week. Would seem to me that the last 2014s would be built with much of the same vintage parts as the 1st 2015s? Disregarding upgraded options or new available features -such as the 8 sp auto...would this be a correct assumption?

Hopefully a new paint department!

I suspect 99% of the last few weeks of assembly will be dealer stock orders. I have never seen a dealer request a status update on this board, for obvious reasons.

I have a TPW of 7/28. Mine is a Cdn vehicle. I know at least two other Cdn vehicles with a similar date. Doesn't mean that others that don't post in the U.S or Canada aren't in those last two weeks as well.

My dealer said the plant shuts down for like 2 weeks at some point?
Did that happen already or do they do that in between model year production? |
No two week shut down for the Corvette and the truck plants this year.
Usually takes place in the week up to and the week after July 4. Laborsmith |
We have had a 7/28 TPW since late May. It is a Canadian Build.
May be this week and the 8/4 TPW are clean up of the Export Builds. :canadaflag: |
With no specific shutdown day sometimes you get a bleeding over of items between model years. Like you might see some MY14 cars with the new 4G LTE radios in them as they get phased in. Probably not but it's happened before I know on the truck side.

[Eagles] And there's some rumors going round... [/Eagles]
Just rumor... Some 2014 orders have showed up at dealers recently... 2 days before their TPW. This might mean the factory is 6-10 days ahead on their current orders. With no lag time between model years, as soon as the 2014 orders are filled, the 2015 should start down the runway :)

Long ago; GM stated there would be no shut-down on the Corvette line between the 2014 to 2015 production change. I mean... it's been months now since that info came official. If your dealer is still saying there is a 2 week shutdown ... they are waaaaay out of the loop. Be careful whatever they tell you next... serious. [Reagan] Trust... but verify [/Reagan] |
The assembly plant producing Corvettes did not shut down for two weeks this year.
This fact has been posted. There were questions regarding 2015 model year starting regular production in July. Members of this forum hve posted 07/2/2014 Tentative Production Week. I recall a member posting a 08/04/ 2014 2014 model year TPW. Has Chevrolet decided to move up the end of the 2014 model year Corvette production and forgot to inform the suppliers, the assemblers and the general public? Laborsmith |
