So fellow C6 peoples...when do you all think the C7 ...

..will be selling for in the 40 g's range used? Next year??Sooner?Never??What say you? I ask here in C6 forum because I think I'll get a more realistic answer ....and no intentions of getting rid of my GS just yet,but for informational purposes I thought I ask!! :D

A year or two for the base model IMO. Probably longer for a well equipt model.

:iagree:

It will be interesting to see if the second year sales hold up as well as the first. If so, more units will mean cheaper used cars down the line or low volume would bring discounts on new ones reducing used prices. Then there's the economy. :willy:

I got to drive my first C7 Sunday. Very nice driving car, would love to have one someday so I hope the prices start tanking on them soon :D

smurfkiller 07-15-2014 04:12 PM

next year for a very basic base model , but dont forget the cardinal rule DONT BUY THE FIRST MODEL YEAR OF ANY NEW CAR

so hopefully in about 3 years ill buy a 15 Z51

That's what I'm thinking also Smurf.

Probably 2 years. Next year I would like to buy the new 2015 Z. Have to wait and see the final pricing and all the other details.

sullie 07-15-2014 04:50 PM

In 3-4 years I'll probably be looking for a '15/'16 2LT Z51 7-speed w/perf exhaust. The prices are too high right now with (seemingly) only loaded Stingrays out there on the dealership lots. I think once the Z06 is released, prices on the used C7 market will warm up a bit, demand for the standard Stingray C7 will cool down thus inventory of these non-Z06's will increase so prices should decrease accordingly and then rebates should start creeping in.

Right before I buy one.:rofl:

C7

drove a C7, nice car, not overly impressed. they are all base models. right now it's like the beanie baby craze, must have one and will pay top dollar. the car will depreciate like all other cars, maybe a little more. the large dealers will have to start discounting heavy because they have to turn the inventory. already seeing $5,000 off list. used C7's will start to appear and normalcy will return. wait a year or two. it's a sellers market now, wait for it to change to a buyers market. besides the value of my Grand Sport is rising:flag:http://i1333.photobucket.com/albums/...ps76dd75fd.jpg

Smurfkiller's idea is prudent and realistic. And my wife is really on board for a C7.

Just on looks alone, I'll keep my 2010 GS.

rsparks64 07-15-2014 08:00 PM

there are some new base models selling for about 52.9k, so there must already be some used ones under 50.

Rockyravoli 07-15-2014 11:55 PM

Love the look of the 7; I am anxious to see if there really are any real bugs with the first year. I will be looking to move up to a 7 in a year or two; I it may be my inspiration to work a few more years.

im with rdg5500...

I am very happy with the C6. I am getting to like the look of the C7 better as time goes by.

hawkgfr 07-16-2014 12:33 PM

They are starting to back up now some on dealer lots. Soon they will be trading for the z06 and the 8 speed automatic. I won't be much longer than year or so more imo.. Also they are now honoring GMS pricing etc...and discounting even the z51...ohh the horror..

I mean really the people willing to give 70k for a base car is limited which dealars now have plenty of because of it. Also no matter what they say quality has been pretty sketchy on the 2014...imo

Grand Sports are rising in value ?????? Interesting.

Yeah right. Carmax just offered me a lousy $35k for my 2010 GS with 3LT & Heritage Package. It's in like-new condition at only 23k. The car listed new for $75k.

I've decided to drive the wheels off of it and get a C7 when my GS becomes an old beater.
