I still have never seen a GT500 get a good launch on the street. Just a smoke show. Makes beating it with a C7 not that difficult :).

Love the C7 but it's NOT in the same league as that beautiful Ferrari. If I could afford it I'd take the 430 all day over the C7 without looking back.

It's not easy to launch well from a standing start. What the OP was talking about was a rolling start at an on ramp. That's where the supercharger on the GT500 will scare you if you get the boost gauge in the dash above 10 psi.

I wonder how much faster, if at all, a RS7 is than a C7.

Without getting into too much detail but lets say shifting and driver has a lot to do with it.

100 more HP, but also 1000lbs more.

Those two level themselves out. I looked at buying a Rs7 instead of a C7 as a year round car, no doubt its a great car but I do not think there is much of a difference between the two in straight line acceleration.

That's the beauty of owning both.

Just wanted one with a little more room (and power) for daily driver.

And yes, most REAL world tests of RS7, 3.2 0-60, it will beat C7 and has 4 doors.

So funny in this forum, even if you own another car, and merely mention it, you get bashed.

Get over it guys, C7 is not the end all to be all--quite frankly nothing is (RS7, Ferrari 458, etc). There's always something, someone thinks is faster, more expensive, better, nicer, yada, yada.

That's why it's great to have so many options and mix and match what makes you happy.

Embrace cars and the love of them, don't bash people for having something else as well.

The C7 will DUST all but a full race GT500 on a road course and most of them in a street race too.

I could easily dust a GT500 in my Shelby GT/SC and the C7 easily would out maneuver that car.

The GT500's are cool but are more of a hooligan street car that does killer burnouts than a serious contender.

Great cars, but the C7 is much more car IMO, hands down.

A weekend with the Shelby Club guys I drove with and she would be driving like one...LOL! :rock: Spring Mountian was a blast, can't wait to try it in a C7.

Great cars the 500's, really love the Shelby's especially the GT/SC's and the Supersnakes.

One day I also may hunt for a modern KR they are getting reasonable in price and so cool.

I simply said that they are almost equally as quick, based on first hand experience.

My choice was to buy a RS7 or a C7 and another winter car. I picked up my C7 in April and picked up my S4 yesterday and really gave a lot of thought because the two cars together dollar wise equal a RS7.

But they are still two different cars for two different reasons.

I might have gotten the RS7 if it had a real transmission like a DSG in my S4..... :leaving:

You sure it wasn't a 360? They almost look the same but they have 400 hp, A C7 will beat one from a roll but NOT a 483 hp F430
