Switched voltage

Has anyone changed their cig lighter from constant 12v to a switched source? Also, is the receptacle in the console on the same circuit, as I want that to remain always on.

I would have to check but I'm pretty sure the one in the console is always on and on a different circuit.

They are both always ON.

If you have a 97-03 look above and to the left of the BCM and you will find three wires. Black, Yellow and Orange If they have never been messed with, they will be terminated in silver or black tape.

The wires are aux power wires. They are fused to 20 amps. One is SWITCHED power, one is ALWAYS powered and one is GROUND.

You can power what ever you want from there.

The wire pig tail is about six inches long and can be disconnected from a plug at the end of the wires
