2015 Corvette Price Increase

Effective today, the base price of each of the four 2015 Corvette models will have an increase in the base price of $1,000. Sold orders placed into the GM ordering system prior to the price increase will be price protected.

My guess is that this is the price GM wanted to have the entire time but they wanted to get people with unfilled 2014 Corvettes to get a chance at the old price, but that is only my guess.

Thanks for the heads up Dave.
Still the best bang for the buck.

Absolutely--good stuff and thanks for heads-up. Stupid of GM to not have done this before, but not surprised. Hope they have another price increase mid-year (will have mine by then)

Are 2015 prices up yet on the GM OrderWORKBENCH?

Thanks,
Ernie

My guess would be someone looked at the number of '15 orders coming in and figured an extra ten million dollars for the next 10,000 cars for nothing more than a few hits on a keyboard wouldnt be a bad idea :)

Does that include oders at 1100???

Dave, any idea how this would impact folks buying on supplier pricing? Since the supplier pricing hasn't been announced, is there effectively no price protection for us?

bingo....I could not believe that the finance guys would let 15 prices reflect no price increase when it happened..it's just too much easy pickings right now

If you are at 1100 you are price protected provided you don't make any changes to the existing order. If you change your order in anyway from this point on, your price will go up $1,000.

Assuming they accept supplier pricing, then it will be based on the old price if your order is currently at 1100. If your order is not yet at 1100 then the supplier price will be based on the new MSRP.

Like I said in my first post, it was the right thing to do. There were a lot of people who ordered 2014 Corvettes with dealers who could not get the car built. This allowed those customers a chance to order a 2015 at the old price. Now, the new prices kick in.

This also means that all of the dealer's "stock" orders (we have over 130) will be at the new MSRP since they are not price protected.

Think how much beer you could have bought if only you would have ordered earlier😏 $1,000 is not much but I am happy it is staying in my pocket just the same!

No increase for me...I'm in the system already

And I prefer high end wines not beer.

To some it is.

I guess the forum members who suggested a price increase were right and those who constantly belittled them and insisted 2015's would remain with the same base price as the late edition 2014's are enjoying their crow.
Not surprised at all, and won't be surprised if we see another $1,000 increase in February 2015.
And, for those who believe the base price of a Z06 will be $80k - now that the Z51 has gone up $5,200 - they are dreaming.
