C1 power top bracket dimensions???

4 Attachment(s)
My C1 (59) came with the power top option. The restoration process has been going a little over 1 year now and I'm taking it all back to original, including reinstalling the power top components. I recently purchased a complete power top set with all the rams, etc, with the intent to clean everything up and get it all working properly. One of the brackets which I believe to be fairly hard to find is pretty darned rusty to the point of crumbling in places. We've attempted to fabricate a replacement piece but are not sure of the exact measurements. Is there anyone that can help me out on the specs for this piece so it will be period correct? Any advice / help is appreciated.

I've included pictures of my fabrication attempt.

Thanks much.

Jill

Thanks 1955 Copper. Is there any way you can send me the width and length of the edge where the wire comes out, along with length and width of the bottom of the bracket that bolts to the floor? I have the rest of the dimensions from my current piece. I hope its not too much trouble for you. Thanks a lot.

Jill, here are the measurements from my 1960 bracket. The base part is 3" long and 5/8" wide. The vertical piece that has the semi-circle cut out of it at the top for the wire grommet is 3-3/8" high by 5/8" wide. The height measurement was made above the grommet cutout as there is approx. 1/8" of metal above the top of the cutout.

Jill, not sure if you need microswitches, but they are available from a company in Chicago for $19 plus shipping. Or Dr. Rebuild has or had originals for $150.

Thanks for the measurements Joe, this really helps a lot. Another question...Is the total length on the bottom of the bracket 3", or is it 3" from the edge ("V") of the cutout?

3" from end to end. There is no V or cutout on the piece I measured. I measured the piece that has the 2 holes in it for the screws to go vertical through the bracket and into the fiberglass body. The piece of metal that lays flat on the floor pan of the interior. If that is not the piece of metal you needed the measurement, let me know and I will get what you need.
