How to? Remove license plate retainer
 

Does anyone know how to remove those little white plastic OEM License plate mounting retainers? I bought a license plate frame that has an aluminum backing plate that needs to go into those little square holes, but the retainers need to come out first. I called the manufacturer of the frame, but they had no idea. Thanks, Nick

I think you need to remove the inner two taillights so you can reach in and squeeze the inserts so they will pop out. They push in and spread out with little hooks.
