2 weeks worth of deliveries/pictures and some funny stories***

The last couple of weeks went by like a blink. I decided to share some delivery pictures and a funny story or two. I will be attending Corvettes of Carlisle in Carlisle, PA next Friday and Saturday the 22nd and 23rd of August. If you have never attended...it's a must do bucket list item. I have been attending every year since 1978. The Fairgrounds are 90+(still growing) acres of pure Corvettes, Corvette parts and Corvette people.

In no particular order of deliveries and days...

~This Gentleman forgot his checkbook and sent his wife back home to retrieve it...We told him it was no problem to mail it but he wanted to complete the transaction...so he stood guard of his new Torch Red and Kalahari Convt.

~Young gal called up from South Carolina and couldn't wait to get her hands on this new Stingray cpe in Yellow with Red interior, 1LT and just what she wanted. She had an open trailer pick it up the other day.

~Saturday the 9th... the Gaithersburg Corvette Club held their annual Corvette show Sponsored by Criswell Chevrolet at our dealership. Approx 80 Corvettes attended the Fun Show. I was in NY City attending my Nephew's wedding on Friday Eve and rushed back Saturday leaving the Bronx at 5am with my wife and daughter and I was at work before 10am.

http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/p...1/ourshowd.jpg

~Monday the 11th I drove up to Neptune, NJ (2 miles from the Jersey Shore) to play Golf in the National College Wrestling Hall of Fame Golf Outing. Left at 5am Monday morning...drove 4 hrs...ate lunch and played in the Tourney...after the banquet drove 4 hrs home...long day but was awarded a nice memento. My College and International Wrestling days are long over but it's nice to get together with all the old Wrestlers, Coaches and Ref's.

http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/p...an7141/hof.jpg

~Ray and his wife from Berlin, MD factory ordered this Silver and Red beauty with 3LT...They were thrilled seeing it for the first time as they loved the color combo chosen.

http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/p...an7141/del.jpg

~Can you say Birthday present? James from Shelby Twp, Michigan called me a couple weeks ago and was excited to see that I had a Limerock Green Z51 Convt with all the equipment he wanted. Plycon delivered it to his doorstep and I don't think he needed a phone to relay his excitement. The perfect birthday gift as he puts it.

~Kurt from Homewood, Illinois honed in on our inventory and pulled the trigger on this Cyber Gray with Gray Top and gray interior Z51 Convt with Auto trans, Nav, CF Instrument panel, Mag ride, Chrome wheels, 2LT and much more. One call and he knew it was the right Stingray for him and Plycon shipped to his driveway.

http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/p.../grayz51co.jpg

http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/p...41/graysdf.jpg

~This Arctic White Convt Z51 didn't last long in stock. One call from the PA Gentleman and he was riding in his car!

http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/p...1/whitez61.jpg

http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/p...1/whiteeee.jpg

~Another Arctic White with Red got picked up by a MD resident and he could not have been happier. Perma Grin the whole way home.

http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/p...hitefdeler.jpg

http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/p...1/whitedel.jpg

~Paul from Davidsonville, MD factory ordered his Limerock Green Cpe just the way he wanted. He went to a Porsche and BMW dealership first and got turned off by the sales reps and when he landed at my desk we took one test drive and the rest was history. As I write this he is taking a Summer Road trip from Maryland to Maine and back.

~If anyone wanted to see what 2009 Jetstream Blue looks like next to 2014 Laguna Blue..here is a good picture. Much different in person.

http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/p...1/jsbvslag.jpg

~Michael and his wife from New Oxford, PA factory ordered their loaded Crystal Red with Adrenaline Red cpe. Both were blown away at how gorgeous this Stingray looked like in person. They traded in two C5's, a 2001 Z06 in Black and a 2004 Lemans Blue Corvette.

~The Summer of Corvette is almost over but the excitement of the Stingray continues. ..as it should...especially with the all new Z06 expected to be released January of 2015.

Don't forget the Corvette wave!

Mike I wish that every Corvette salesperson had the same dedication to customer service that you do. The smiles on your customers faces says it all.

Great stories and pics. One thing I will say - it's too bad that the Lime Rock Green won't be on the list any more. I think it is a beautiful color.

The WWF has nothing on The Furmanator!!!

Nice to line up the 2 white and 2 Lime Rock Green C7's. You had a stable going there!!!

That Cyber Gray with Gray top is a really nice...... and rare, combo.

So long Cyber Gray and Lime Rock Green.

The Crystal Red Metallic with the Adrenaline Red interior is the bomb!!!

Kudos to Mike for posting our 8th annual Historic Prescott Car Show flyer. We have sold out each year, and we are well ahead of last year's registrations for our 275 Corvette limit. This is the largest all Corvette Car Show in the entire Southwest, and it draws registrants from all over the country.

We will be thinking of you Mike, as Maryland is about the furthest East that you can get from Prescott, Arizona.

The happy faces and variety of cars just shows that Corvette is a world uniter, not a divider! :D

Congrats to new owners on their stunning purchases, and thanks to you Mike for continuing to show us more and more beautiful combinations.

It's tough to choose when there are so many gorgeous combos. Naturally, I had a few favorites and each of them shared the trait of being more unique combinations.

vette4lyn 08-16-2014 10:07 AM

Mike's High School and College wrestling background prepared him for C.F.!!!

We assume that the folding lawn chair had a Corvette logo on it, the chair was Factory Corvette certified...... and that it was ultimately signed by Furman!!!

Nice touch, too, that Mike and Criswell would allow the new owner to drive his new C7 off the lot, entrusting he and his wife to send Criswell a check at a later date.

:iagree:

Best Corvette show in the west and great fun in the old territorial capital of Arizona - - beautiful town and a great sponsoring club.

We'll be there for our 7th year !
