Steering Shaft Separation From Gear Box

How do you separate the steering shaft from the steering gear box on a 1960 corvette?

You don't -- there is no "rag joint' on C1 Corvettes...the steering shaft goes all the way into the box. It requires disassembling the steering box. The procedure is here: http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com...62csg0901.html

Perfect response. It is pulled and ready to be sent off for rebuild. THANKS A BUNCH.

Sent it to Rock Auto. Just got it back today. It appears as if they did everything that was needed. It is lubed, painted, and already centered. It goes back in next weekend.

What do you mean by "already centered?"
