Look what the valet did with my C7 tonight...

Called and complained to his boss. I should have warned them beforehand, that way they would have been on better behavior...

Update: 12/16/2014 - Sorry. Just updated the link if anyone is interested.
Update: 12/15/2014 - I had to temporarily remove this video. A local news station has contacted me about it and is looking at running a story on it.

Wow, that's messed up! I'd beat his a**

lsp408 12-14-2014 11:08 PM

Did he hit the wall?

Vetteman Jack 12-14-2014 11:11 PM

If the valet had any moral values at all, you wouldn't have to warn them about the PDR. Post up what the valet's boss comes back to you with. Would be nice if they canned his azz - sure wouldn't want him messing with my car.

silky1 12-14-2014 11:13 PM

It would be game over for this dude. But for the love god guys, stop letting people "park" your cars.

WelderGuy 12-14-2014 11:14 PM

Why was he looking at the front of the car? Did he run into the wall?

AllFlash 12-14-2014 11:21 PM

I would do the smart thing. Find out who runs the valets and that company where you attended. Explain and show the video to both asking what you can expect might be the corrective action for something like this. Mention to them that your local TV station and news would be very interested in seeing a new corvette reach 50 miles an hour in that parking garage. Then sit back and enjoy.

The new Vette reaching that speed in a parking garage IS NEWS!

I saw that and checked the front end of my car and didn't see anything fortunately.

I would be LIVID!!! I would be all over this guy and his boss. This is exactly the reason why I do not valet my cars. NEVER!!

I had a fool peel out in my F150 Supercrew right in front of me one time. He was bringing the truck to me as I was on my way home. I gave him a piece of my mind and told him to stick whatever tip he WOULD HAVE HAD up where the sun don't shine.

This episode is not an unusal case. There have been many news stories and undercover stories about valet parking.

A young kid gets to drive a hot new Corvette, what would you expect?

Probably never should have left the car with a valet, and perhaps this is a warning for the next time. I am sure if this was a 2006 Toyota Corolla, that would not have happened.

A new beautiful Corvette would be tempting to any valet, to "get on it a little".

I am sure that you may re-consider letting a valet park your beauty again. Nevertheless, I think its a good idea to speak with management of the facility. Perhaps a few harsh warnings to the valet who parked the car from the management may save another sports car or premium car owner from suffering the same as you did.

Next time, park the car yourself and walk to the entrance of the building. It will save you some headaches.

Neat thing about this, you know the video taping system works pretty good, and you have great documentation of the incident.

Good thing the valet didn't spin it into one of those concrete columns.

There are several videos on You Tube showing valets parking cars and taking them for joy rides or just messing up the cars, especially when they are hot sports cars like a Corvette.

Can you imagine what would have happened if that other car coming from the opposite direction came around the corner as he hit 50 MPH?? What if he lost control of this beast and went sideways? Other than my wife and people I trust, no one else is driving my car unless they are pulling it in for routine service.

Motohead279 12-15-2014 12:37 AM

Why on earth are you letting valet park your car? Did you really trust them.

I don't care if I have to walk a half mile back, I will never, ever be handing the key (fob) of my Stingray over to a valet, even if they're older than me (I'm 33). No service is worth worrying what some underpaid lackey in a cheap suit is going to do to or with my car once I'm out of sight. :toetap:

10mm_ 12-15-2014 12:42 AM

I would never ever let a Valet park a car I gave a **** about.

I bet he **** himself when he found out he was being recorded

Skid Row Joe 12-15-2014 12:51 AM

50 mph in a parking garage. What's wrong with that? What could possibly go wrong?

Seriously, why would anyone let a valet drive their Corvette?
