Help with wiring C6 Seats in C5

Lucky enough to pick up a great pair of c6 seats from a 2008 vette. Passenger and driver seats are both power with side bolster and lumbar support. These seats replaced my 2000 sports seats, both were power with side bolster and lumbar support as well. Installed the c6 seats no problem but am running into issues using my c5 relay and wiring harness and adapting them to the c6 switch. I do have my C5 switches installed and tucked underneath the seat (side bolsters work but not lumbar) but would like have the c6 switches wired for use.

I pulled up as many wiring diagrams as I could find and for the life of me can not figure out what goes where. I researched and saw a few guys adapt the c5 wiring harness to fit the c6 switch but could not find any photos or which diagrams they used. The wiring for the c5 switch and c6 switch are night and day, if memory serves me correctly the c5 switch wiring has 26 pins and the c6 switch wiring has 5 pins (also believe the lumbar wiring is in a different location as well?). Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Looks like I have the wiring down for everything but the side bolsters and lumbar. I am assuming that for the C5 harness the wires that control the bolsters and lumbar come off the 26 pin connector, cant seem to locate which wires those are though. Any idea which connections control the bolsters and lumbar for the c6? I apologize if this information is in the graphics right in front of me, cant seem to locate it!

Subscribed for results.

If you successfully re-pin your C5 harness to the C6 switch please post back your findings. I'm looking to do the same for my Z06's driver's side seat - though I won't need the lumbar controls, it looks like it is just the 7 pins shown in the schematics above.

That should be all you need, hopefully I will have the lumbar and bolsters figured out by this weekend and will post of pictures to follow

Interesting thread. Will follow this to see how things turn out.

Don't know about the C6 but the C5 passenger side with power uses relays like in your picture above. The drivers side with Memory uses an SCM. Your diagrams seem to indicate you are trying to make these 2 different designs match up somehow.

Sorry for not clarifying, my C5 driver side does not have memory. Both the wiring and relays for my C5 driver side and passenger side are identical. Same for the C6 seats, the "guts" are identical since both seats are power with bolster and lumbar support.

No problem. Surely someone in the C6 Forum can provide you with the connector pin outs for what is remaining.

Do you need anything on pinouts for the C5? I have them.

If you have the pinouts for the Side Bolster and Lumbar for the C5 that would be a huge help!

Let me know if this is what you needed. Normally I like to scan instead of taking pictures but my 3rd FSM volume is falling apart due to scan use. I may have to buy another set and just use this one for scans.

Yes big help, thank you! I double checked the 26 pin connector and all the wire colors align to the correct pinout number for the lumbar/bolsters. I will post a message in the c6 forum for the c6 lumbar/bolster wiring, once i find that I will be golden!

I was able to pull the complete diagrams from my mechanic for both the C5 and C6 seats. Bellow is a quick and dirty scan of the side bolsters and lumbar wiring digram. I will upload a better copy later on. I am a very visual person so I am using pictures of my connectors and labeling the wires before I start this project. I will make sure to upload everything when I am done

I did not think to see if the FSM had the ACTUAL connector pin outs. Sorry, if you need that I will look and see if they exist. They don't always exist for actual components but they always have them for the connectors. If we need to discuss on the phone you can PM me. I am very good at reading the GM schematics.

PS: If you need to remove any pins I can tell you how to remove them from the connectors. Very easy.

I appreciate it, I should be good to go though but will definitely take you up on the offer if I run into any issues
