c5 corvette doesnt start cause shift doesnt engage parking
 
Hi there...i love my c5 but this problem make me angry ...i have to start my car in.neutral cause parking doesnt engage...i have to park my car with the e brake it doesnt bother me but i cant live the whole life with this problem starting in neutral cause parking doesnt engage please help....

Sounds like the shifter is out of adjustment or a bad safety switch.

Head for your friendly auto shop before you park the car somewhere and forget to put the E-brake on.....

Thanks a lot c4cruiser i.m gonna try tomorrow yeah maybe is the shifter that needs adjustment cause transmission cable is only 3 months old...thanks for replaying..god bless

I agree with c4cruiser - get the car looked at by a good mechanic and have it fixed. Sure wouldn't want to have to always keep the car in neutral.

Thanks for advice..yes trust me what a pita to start in neutral ...i dont like to drive my car knowing that something is wrong thanks i will tomorrow morning

Well finally fixed the problem.its a fiber glass piece that is attached to transmission cable as i said cable is new but this fiber glass part is old so when i pushed the shifter to.park this part got open...what a stupidness to attached the shifter cable so close to exhaust..that place is always hot cable get warm...what a stupid idea i love c5's but this is something that they saw and even tho they didnt care..what a shame
