TopSpeed Names 2015 Corvette Z06 Performance Car Of The Year
2014 almost over, TopSpeed thought it was time to take inventory of the past 12 months’ worth of vehicles and pick a few for top billing. The publication identified three categories for its 2014 awards: Performance Car of the Year, Best Car of the Year, and Best Truck of the Year. General Motors, Chevrolet, and Corvette fans will be pleased with the choice of the former. Almost unanimously, the 2015 Corvette Z06 was chosen as TopSpeed’s 2014 Performance Car of the Year over the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe and even Corvette’s little brother, the Camaro Z/28. The 2015 Z06 received praise for its supercar-like performance and much-improved interior. It’s also the second Corvette to win an award from TopSpeed. Just last year, the publication selected the 2014 Corvette Stingray as its 2013 TopSpeed Car of the Year. Of course, the Z06′s win shouldn’t be a surprise to folks keeping up with the C7′s development, especially given how it was developed alongside the C7.R race car. The Z06′s key attributes include its stiff and light architecture, powerful supercharged LT4 engine, ultra high-performance Brembo brakes, lightweight wheels rolling on Michelins, and the electronic limited-slip differential. But the influence of the C7.R isn’t all mechanical, as it also can be seen in the cabin of the 2015 Z06 and its flat-bottom steering wheel and high-performance seats. http://gmauthority.com/blog/2014/12/...#ixzz3MZleFezK |

Based on the fact that Team Corvette has accomplished their goals of engineering a incredible track directed world class sports car that just so happens to be an all around touring grocery getter daily driver. What other superlatives do we want to heap upon this great car ??

I like tha car a lot. Just seems weird to be named performance car of the year when I don't think it's a secret it's having some performance issues.

Likewise, there are a number of similar trolls who went to great lengths to argue the C7 was no faster/quicker than the C6. Do you need a refresher course on this? In coming months, this will be settled with data and timeslips and IMO the majority of these trolls will have nothing more to say. Just like a little over a year ago with the C7. S. |

Do realize that when the ZR1 was introduced, some of the very same trolls in this section argued vehemently that it was no faster than the C6 Z06?

:iagree: We need more C7Z's on the street and some A8's need to be delivered into the right hands and alot of this BS will be mute. Hopefully you will get your Z on time so we can see some experienced times.
It is almost embarrassing to read that some of haters think the new Z06 is a mid 11's car. When more than one Z51 owner has completely stock cars 11.3. Do they honestly think it is slower than the Stingray? |

I'm tired of reading all this LOL...I want my A8 ZO6 here. All the cars the C7Z are compared to are great cars... All of them are pretty close in times... I'm just going to buy the car I like the most, if it's not fast enough for me, then there is always aftermarket. The car goes 0-60 around 3 seconds, does a 1/4 mile around 11 seconds... Goes over 150mph... I think I'll be happy
