MacMulkin, Kerbeck, who else?

Considering my first Corvette but the dealers close to me, other than Criswell, seem to have little interest in selling me a car. I can qualify for military or credit union pricing. Is this about the best I can get on an ordered car? Are MacMulkin and Kerbeck worth dealing with? Both are within a day's drive. Are they about equal in terms of customer service? Other concern is service as local dealers seem to sell and service very few Corvettes. I could go to Criswell as they are only about an hour away. Would like to hear from customers of any of these dealers. Thanks.

I bought my 2013 C6 GrandSport from MacMulkin. Great selection and would buy there again.
It looks like pricing on a C7 is close to military pricing...Not for a C7Z06. I worked with Ron and he was a pleasure to work with.

Thanks. A trip to NH in the spring might be fun. If I get serious I'll give Ron a call. I'm interested in a 2LT coupe, automatic.

I live in Florida and we spent 4 days driving it home from NH. Some of Vermont, Up State NY, Blue Ridge Parkway. It was a great ride home. Hope to get up there again soon

No dealer doc fees at McMulkin.

McMulkun was great for me. I'll buy my next one from them, and I live in Missouri.

I bought my 08 from Tommy JR at MacMaulkin and then I bought my '13 GS there too and that deal had trades involved. He went all out on my trades and I got about 15 grand off sticker too...Kerbeck,where trades are concerned, would not have been as "generous"...but from strictly an outright buy standpoint, they both have the best prices around. If you're in Jersey, of course Kerbeck is closer...I'm in upstate New York most of the time so it's a haul no matter which way I go. Tommy JR is better with trades though.

I don't live far from Criswell. At the time they didn't want to give any kind of break.Maybe being in the Wash DC area they don't need to.Contacted Kerbeck and they gave me a great deal.Just shop around

rmorin1249 01-04-2015 09:08 PM

Thanks for the feedback. I will probably shop both MacMulkin and Kerbeck when the time is right. Are many folks leasing C7s for as little as 24 months? Picking up a low mileage car with an extended warranty is enticing.

I took my BMW M635 Euro out for a drive today before winter weather arrives tomorrow. Stopped at 2 Chevy dealers to see if they had any allocations. Neither one had any Corvettes in stock and neither had an allocation. I will probably make a trip over to Kerbeck this spring just to get a chance to see the various colors in the flesh. When I decide exactly what I want I'll email several dealers and see what they can offer. Thanks for all the feedback. It's good to know there are several dealers out there that are easy to work with and treat their customers with respect. I'm a retired Army Colonel, been driving BMWs since the 80's but have always wanted a Vette. I like the process of buying a car but only if I am dealing with an honest dealer and salesperson. The Corvette has now matured into the kind of sports car that I have been waiting for Chevrolet to build. I'd like to do a factory delivery but no way I'm going to pay GM almost $1000 for the privilege of picking up my car at the factory and saving them the cost of bringing it to me. I've picked up several BMWs in Munich and saved money even after figuring in the cost of the trip but GM wants the customer to pay them just for the opportunity to tour the factory.

Since you live in MD, it probably makes most sense to work with one of the big boys on the East Coast area. The large dealers have huge inventories and are high volume dealers.

I live in NM and rules them out. Yes, I could have orderd new and had a courtesy delivery to my local Chevy house.

I choose to work with Cable Dahmer Chevrolet located in the midwest, Independence, Mo. They treated me really well. I didn't want to wait for allocations and go thru the crap of checking the status and waiting for months. Cable Dahmer has access to all the Corvette dealers across the country. They found me a C7 with just about 98% of what I wanted on a new 2015 that would have been ordered. They provided the information to me on car, with build sheets, options etc. I decided to go with them and they bought the car from another dealership, and arranged transport from the other dealer direct to me. They beat, yes beat, the pricing of the big dealers on the east coast. So if your looking for the ultimate of service, good pricing, and don't mind working with a Midwest dealer, give Micheal Leon at Cable Dahmer Chevrolet in Mo. a call. You will be glad you did. My new C7 arrives this week, delivered to my door, and I just closed the sale in the last 4 days. Everything was done over the phone, via email, and overnight Fed Ex deliveries to me.

Happy motoring.....

Richard in New Mexico

OT, but I have to ask. Your Avator is awesome. Is it your significant other? If so, you are a lucky man!

Highly recommend Rick Hendrick Chevrolet in Duluth, GA. Was looking for a 3LTblack/red z51 vert last August. I only found 3. 2 were in FL, where I live. Including the largest Vette dealer in FL. The only one who would budge off msrp was Hendrick, and they honored the GM teacher discount. It was well worth the drive.

Call Chris at Rick Hendrick.

all the dealers here in Oklahoma City honor the discount except on Z06, there is a hold from GM for that model

I think the problem with the dealers near me is the lack of allocations from GM. When they do get a car, they want to sell it for as close to MSRP as possible.
