'91 zr-1 fs

Looked at a red on red '91 ZR-1 today...has 31k miles on it. Both tops, perfect seats and interior....close to near perfect condition. Only thing I found bad was the hatch weatherstripping torn-out in the corners. Has a Corsa exhaust on it.

Engine could use some time with some Simple Green, brush, rag on the runner and cam covers. But no oil leaks and was told that they did not detail the engine....left it alone.

Salesman told me they will only keep it for 30 days, then off to auction. They are asking $22,450...or something like that.
Have no idea if this is a good price or not.....dealership does not know what they have.

Anyone interested, let me know and I will pass along the info.

Thats an OK price, sounds like the cars in great shape, if it has any documentation records especially on maintenance that's a big bonus. At that price the dealer definitely knows what they have, not saying its way high but its not a steal either. Hope this helps!

Yes I say you are correct about the dealership pricing. I have since did some looking around and see that the price is too high....so surprised!!!....that the dealership has on it.

I have no interest in purchasing the car....my garage is full.

Dealerships = Stealerships, most of the time! IMHO.

Price Update

Stealership has dropped asking price to just under $20k.

Wonder what would happen if I offered $15k cash out the door?

Thought your garage was full and you had no interest in purchasing the car?

With an initial savings of $7,450, a new storage facility could be built.....good question though.

It appears to me lots of new interest in the LT5 is becoming apparent. Especially from people who had little to no love for the C4 in the past. (no offense to the OP) Buying them as cheap as you can is good practice on a vehicle that just turned to antique/collector status.

With the tide changing in generations. The ZR-1 will begin to gain momentum in the very near future, and should cause these vehicles to sky-rocket in value as collectibles.

The time to purchase is now, but knowing just what your purchasing is another factor that should be considered. (while I will not go into specifics) People who follow collector cars should understand what the market following is.

Nice examples are getting tougher to find.

True ! But, I would wager to say the stealership has maybe $14xxx in the car. So offer $16,500 out the door, then let them talk you back up to $17,000 or $17,500 max and either walk out with a sweet car thats only going to go up in value or Not. Sounds like a great car but if you do make an offer I would suggest that you make sure it is the car you think it is before offering anything. Again, IMHO

get the car for 18k and you'll have a nice ride for very little
