Restarting the engine

I have a base 2014. Whenever I accidentally kill the engine or shut the engine off and get out and leave the door open, I have a hell of a time restarting. Sometimes the car goes into exit mode, or won't allow restart until I open the door a couple of times. Is there a procedure for restarting the engine? FOrgot to mention its a manual tranny. Thanks, DIck

If I stall the car, which from time to time is inevitable, I just push in the clutch and the start button and it restarts fine. It does take a second or two for the engine to crank. If I get out and then back in I have to go thru the push the seat return button, press in the clutch and push the start button. Have never had to open and shut the door.

Jerry, thanks for the reply. I will try the seat return thing next time. Regards, Dick
