Door Glass Install Advice

I'm about to replace the passenger side door glass along with the beltline weather strip on my '02 coupe. New glass and weather strip is on-hand. Anyone with experience doing this have any tips/advice for me?

Hi.
You may find you break a few clips that hold the inside door trim panel
on , helps to have a trim removal tool .

All clips and screws removed pull panel up .

The clamps at the bottom of the glass have a rubber gasket that folds round the glass , does like to get out of shape so maybe check it is covering the glass both side before tightening bolts .

I noticed my glass had dirt around the two brackets ,this is good , it helped me get the glass back in the correct clamped position . Maybe transfer measurement to new glass.

You might find you can adjust the glass , forward and rearward with the door almost closed and from inside nip the bolts up.

Is the weatherstrip the one that mounts to the top of the door and rests against the glass outside surface ?

If that's a yes , there's a few screws on the inside , can get to these easier with glass removed , the trim has raised pins that slide into a keyhole shape in the door , so you need to pull trim rearward to remove.

When installing trim maybe check all pins are in those slots or the trim will sit away from the top of the door.

Probably other things I don't know but its all I got :D

Take you time mate , not a bad job to do

Don't hit the edge of the glass on anything, could shatter !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried the same on my drivers door. The aftermarket glass sucks and doesn't have the right curve so I put the old scratched window back in. So, make sure your new glass has the right shape before installing it.

Installed the new glass & weather strip yesterday -- no more scratched door glass! Thanks to all for the tips - much appreciated.
