Corvette Based Show Car from Amelia Island
Saw this car at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance March 15. While not a C6, I thought it would be of interest to all of us, not just the C1 group. I also posted there.
This is a recreation of the 1954 Chevrolet show car named Corvair. As you can see it is based on a Corvette with a small block V8. I have never heard of the Corvair show car before and I am surprised that the name was repurposed in 1959 for Chevrolet's economy car. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...0d61d296b2.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...d614549138.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...2ffbe63b07.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...8d8c19e7a7.jpg |

That place has apparently grown over the years. I used to live on Amelia Island many years ago. It was just an old plantation type town back then. But very nice people.
I remember the Corvair but have not seen a lot of them. How long were they made do you know? |
