Bumper scrape repair

Hey guys. This is my first post. I just bought a Z51 3LT 2015 C7 in February... I pulled into my garage today and a toolbox barely clipped the bottom of my front bumper and put a nasty scrape on the bottom.

Any tips for cosmetic repair?

Sorry to hear about the damage. Talk to a good body shop - they may be able to repair the scrape and make it to where you will never be able to tell it happened.

I would also like to know since I too scraped the bottom right hand corner of my front bumper this weekend. Damn curb ran out in front of me while parking!

This is the main reason I put the splitter on. Takes the small impacts and doesn't cost much.

Lay a 2X4 on your garage floor a safe distance away from anything in front of your car, when you pull in, roll until you bump the board with your front tires. Saves a lot of grief.

With the car sitting so low, I decided to just make an effort to take it to a shop and have it cosmetically repaired yearly for anything from rocks... etc.

Since it happened 3 years ago, I HOPE he's had it taken care of by now

This is what I did for our 2017 Edge and my now gone 2014 C7. I talked to a relative at a local Ford dealership who brings in people who do touch up, dent repairs and window glass buffing. One fixed a scuffed black wheel on my Vette, one did the Dent Wiizard trick on the Edge(that I thought would need painting but didn't) and one tried to buff out a gravel hit on the windshield two days ago(no success on that but did clean it up a bit).

My point is many dealers employ outside vendors to do these kinds of things and do it well. Talk to some of the service guys at your dealership and ask who they recommend. Some of these guys are artists. I've been impressed and have not spent a boatload of money. Just a suggestion.

3 years later...that is one hell of a 15 minute period. Imagine how much we could get done in that time frame.

That was cool of you to come back 3.5 years later and let everyone know how it turned out.

3 years in the shop should be perfect, hell of a labor bill I bet.

Update:

I think it's been 20 minutes or so now. I've probably scraped my bumper a little bit more and spent a bunch on repairing it. Which splitter did you get?
