Tow hooks in stock for later Z51!

We have the tow hooks in stock for the Z51 C7. They can be ordered at www.zl1addons.com if you buy 2 you will get a shorter one for the rear to not look so bad like the OEM

If your Z51 was made after 12/14/14 it will have receivers from the factory and all ZO6s have them also. There is a thread about them in the Z06 section. Pics there also. Our tow hooks are made better than the OEM and hinged. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...r-the-zo6.html

Is that date 12/15/2015 correct or should it be 2014 instead? My Z51 was built on 2/2/2105 and has the threads for a tow hook.

Yes 12/14/14. Sorry about that. I just got used to writing 2015 on checks and missed that one, thanks for the heads up.

I need more info. My 2015 Z51 was made before 12/14. Do I have any receivers? If not, how can your tow hooks be attached to the car?

Zulu51 04-18-2015 09:35 PM

Can you PM me details on the new hooks for the Z51 as they are not listed on the web site? Pricing etc. Am looking for the long and short ones (pair) to have them both installed for track days.

Mine was built on 12/1/2014 and it does have the recievers.

Have you tested the tensile strength? Is your tow hook stronger than OEM? If so, I will order them.

Skylane765 04-19-2015 11:22 PM

yes, our premium is stronger, the standard is fine for track or pulling on a trailer. The D ring is not our design so can not tell you the strength. no one knows the strength of the OEM either. I do know the D ring on the standard is good to 8k lbs but do not know beyond that.
Our premium will pull the front end off before it would break.

No guess? I've got some early summer track days coming and wonder if I should wait or order from other vendor. Thanks!

its up to you. the receivers should be done in about 20 days. price for the receivers I do not see being more than $150 for both front and rear. we will for sure have them done before June.

I have 2015 Z51 with production date 12/1. It does have the receivers front and back. I am just about to order the two hooks from your website.

Yes I do know of some made before that date that have the receivers OEM.

My Z51 was built 11/14 and I have the rear receiver for sure - grey metal block with threads behind the cover in the back, and threaded metal hole in the front, and removable section of the front grill.

Update - Spoke to the manufacturer on the phone, and if aligned properly they fit.

Great quality product and prompt/outstanding phone support.

I received the Premium front/back tow hooks. Great quality product, but it did not fit my factory 2015 Z51 (11/14 build) receivers.

Edited: After a phone call with manufacturer, got them both to fit front and rear. They have some play in then until you screw them in high all the way. The rear needs to be angled exactly right to fit - it goes into an angle to the receiver, but in line with car. (I feel like an idiot for trying to get them in last night and conceding they didn't fit)

I bought my car new from the dealer, never driven with 2 mi on the odometer, so I am sure the receivers are whatever GM put in the Z51 in Nov/2014.

As you can see in the pictures, the rear receiver is too small for the ZL1 tow hook screw. It won't even go in. Also the threads are very different - more closely spaced in the receiver.

At the front, the ZL1 tow hook will go in and can be threaded, but if fits loosely - the threads are mismatched - again more closely spaced in the receiver.

So, unfortunately, I need to return these.

The threads are all the same on all the Corvettes, they are m20 2.5 you can check that by using a nut and you will see they all fit our shaft. If you had the car here I can show you how they go in. The rear just has a lot of paint on it and you may need to chase the threads. By the way our shaft is made .010 under size. OUR TOW HOOKS WILL FIT YOUR CAR!! You just need to line them up correctly, all Corvettes are the same and we have over 300 tow hooks being used, so it can not be our threads, I guarantee it. Call me and I can help you install them. 858 527 8727 GM just did not clean the paint out.

One other note, I can see by the pic you do not have the tow hook lined up with the receiver. It is important to know that the tow hook lines up at a 20 deg angle down and STRAIT IN LINE WITH CAR! not 90 deg with bumper like you have in the pic.

NO, our threads are not miss matched they are correct and fit them all. the front is loos until you tighten to the lock pin we have installed. If the tow hook fits the front, it will fit the back and if it will thread into the back it will fit the front.
