I have been trying to get this car for several years and a couple of weeks ago, I got the call. He said, I want sell you the 54 as long as you put back on the road as close to as original as your wallet will allow. The seller, who is life long family friend owned a corvette body shop for more than 50 years.
This car drove in to his shop around 1970. The previous owner of the 54 wanted it painted back to the original color blue. A few days after the car was dropped off for repair the previous owner sold the the 54 to the the body shop. The body shop owner said he changed the fluids and stuffed in a corner with a cover on it and forgot about it. I did get 97% of all the molding with it. the car appears to have 63, miles on it.
The frame looks good and solid and the engine looks very clean.
I can't wait to get started.

I do, because I have been under this car and it is clean an solid. This is a Michigan car and most of the high milage cars are all rusted out. I am also judging by the chrome which is also very clean.

My favorite color for the 54

Don't kid yourself on the miles. Those seats didn't just ware out sitting there. Also look at the body. It looks like it has been in some kind of crash event on the rt. front and possibly the rt. rear. It will need a full restoration costing $$$$. Congratulations and good luck. Dennis

Very cool!

You may want to check the Tach rev counter to give some validation to the actual mileage. Lower mileage would tend to show a very low reading on the counter since the old 6-cly would not have been running that much. I had the same question on my car - if it had turned over the 100,000 mile or not. There was a posting a couple years ago that someone had provided a formula for the tach reading, comparing it to a mileage reading of either 55,000 miles or 155,000 miles, tire size etc. Helped me to put that question to rest in my mind on the actual mileage of my car. Good Luck and post more photos of the engine compartment.....what are the numbers off of the engine block. So many of the old stovebolts were jerked out in favor of a V-8 when they were available hence any true survivor with the factory 6 is a great find!!!

Regardless of the mileage, that is a great purchase.

You would have felt like crap if you found out that it was sold to someone else.

Cool buy, good luck with it.

I'm not sure what I would need to believe it has less than 100 miles on it. Has there ever been a car of this vintage with that sort of mileage verified?

Id love to find myself a 55 V8 car for the wife.

Nice find!

Only one I've ever seen was a '54 with ~2000 miles on it. Its condition was outstanding yet there was clear evidence of the passage of time.
