Poll: Z07 Performance Package Owners Missing Stage 2 end caps

Trying to determine how many other Z07 Performance Package owners are missing their Stage 2 Aero short end caps

My car came w stage 3 (Taller) end caps mounted but did not include a set of short end caps

See page 9-10 of owner's manual:

The z07 Performance Package has an installed Stage 2 Aero Package, which consists of a front splitter with short end caps, rocker panel extensions, and a rear spoiler.

Stage 3 Aero components are delivered but not installed on the vehicle. These are These are intended to be installed for track use only. The components include:
-Front splitter tall end caps that replace the front splitter short end caps.
-A center transparent wicker bill for the rear spoiler.

That's how mine came from the museum, with the carbon-fiber stage-two installed and the stage-three in a bag.

They come in a bag. Make sure that they did NOT install them along with the large ones. This has happened.

I did my own install of all the aero, I had the dealer leave it in the bags. By the way, the bolts are too long that attach the tall end cap.

found mine in the rear compartment

How the heck is that possible? That'd be crazy!

Mine was museum delivery, stage 2 installed, and stage 3 in the trunk. I had the Chevy dealer put the stage 3 on for $45 because I started to strip a screw doing it myself, and then the Chevy dealer said the "dealer" I bought it from torqued these on way too tight, it took them a couple hours to finally get it done.

The dealership installed the tall end caps. The short end caps were missing. I've been trying to get them since early Jan. The dealership is unable to verify that both set should be included, even though I pointed them to p. 9-10 of the Owners Manual. The Regional Manager isn't helpful. In limbo...

There is a photo on another link, same topic, where the small visible CF end caps were installed, then the taller end caps installed on the outside of the smaller ones. Crazy....

This shows how little many of the dealerships know about these cars or they just don't care. My car came from a dealer in NC, they screwed up the end caps, didn't install the rivets in the side skirts and they only installed the clear wickerbill and not the end pieces on the rear spoiler.
Maybe they did this because they sold the car to my dealer and they just slapped everything on knowing it wasn't going to be there long.

Rd16rr 05-14-2015 01:40 PM

the white car above, has only stage-3 installed - i think he meant "both" as in each side

CONMAX 05-14-2015 01:40 PM

dealer installed larger over smaller and somehow managed to install center wicker upside down with some very long screws that they said they had trouble finding.

another dealer removed only they dry sump tank drain and put 10 quarts of oil in. they said there is only one drain plug and did not how the tank showed way overfull. excess goes out the exhaust over time and smokes like a worn out engine.

If you zoom in closer on the second pic, you can see the stage 2 installed then the stage 3 to the left of it

ElCid79 08-26-2015 08:53 AM

I am missing my stage 2 as well. Did you ever get yours?

Arctic6 08-26-2015 09:45 AM

Don't have mine either.

arturox2 08-26-2015 11:37 AM

Still unresolved since I picked up my car at the end of Dec 2014.
