Where to get C6 Z06 Shifter?

I'm getting really frustrated with the shifter in my '02 Z. Feels really slow and "notchy" and would like something smoother. I'm thinking C6 Z06 shifter, but can't seem to find where to get it? Thanks!

A search should get you there.

Try Gene at Cultrag Performance Parts. That's where I got mine!

Here's a recent post from Gene (unrelated to shifter).

It pays to scan ebay now and then I found an excellent MGW shifter on there for 100 bucks.

Listen to Gene, he has the best deal and the best directions. Gene's package has stuff that you will need but don't know about:thumbs:

If you would have just scanned through the 35+ adds on the front page of the Z06 forum you would have seen that Cultrag was selling them...

Or you can also buy lightly used ones in the C6 Parts forum, that's where I got mine a few years back. Love it. Of course if you can do new, then Gene is the man!

I wish someone would do something about the c6 shift knob, it would be nice if you could just twist on a ball if that is what you wanted to do.

I purchased my shifter from Gene at Cultrag Performance and I couldn't be happier. I ordered it without the shift kn0b and I received it in 3 days after order. I installed it and I love it. I originally ordered the shifter from someone else and I never received it and was unable to get a response from him for several weeks(this was a business that I was recommended to by a member on this forum) this business is NOT a vendor and I do not hold that member responsible, I just had bad luck. I ended up having to report it as a fraudulent charge on credit card and I was refunded in less that 24 hours.

I ordered a Hurst style ball shift kn0b that is a press fit just like the original C6 shift kn0b. I couldn't be happier with the result!!!

That would have been too easy for GM engineers to devise. They didn't have time, they were too busy devising a fool proof steering column lock system.

I bought mine from TPS Mak. Great price and super fast free shipping. I got it stock length, cut it down below shift knob mount and threaded it down all the way so I could retain my custom C5 threaded knob. Real short throw and so much better than the C5 shifter or the Hurst I also had. The Hurst was so stiff that after a shoulder injury, I couldn't get into 5th or reverse without using my left hand for assistance. I had to put the stock shifter back in.

This link shows a c6 shifter. Is the z06 shifter the same as the base c6 shifters?
