"Last year of the big engines" WTF is that supposed to mean? Considering the rest of the narrative that follows I guess it really doesn't matter. Note to self- Do not create and post ads while drunk.

I'd like to see this one restored exactly as it was..back to its apparent show car days.
It's an historical piece from the 70's, that is rare to see these days.
I'm sure with many detailed pictures of the paint, todays talented painters could duplicate it.

blunblk68 06-18-2015 08:17 AM

wow too bad he covered it with moisture trapping material that ruined that aesome paint!!
i would love to save that car and return it to its former glory!!
10 grand seems kinda steep for it though as it wil need everything!!

C376FL 06-18-2015 09:16 AM

I don't even know where to start on this one. All I can say is to each their own. I can't imagine how much was spent on this. And why.

stubek 06-18-2015 09:17 AM

I can take the basic green metallic and gold paint, but all the embezzlement in the paint, not really. The rear tail lights, nah. But those interior doors and seats. They killed grandma's couch! Wow.

parkerracing 06-18-2015 09:52 AM

This thing is awesome! I don't know how many painters could do all the metalflake stripes let alone the murals. It's worth redoing as it is though.

I am just surprised it's not being hailed by someone here as a long lost real motion car worth a zillion times asking price "if" it had documentation,
While I still havent warmed up to the odd Datsun Z headlights this is a stunning old school custom...
Oldgto...when you hand me a nice pair of the tail lights I will use them...:D

Tooonz 06-18-2015 10:12 AM

Im not a big fan of the customs, but being a sign guy and loving the the old school look of this one. I totally LOVE all the glitter and velvet on this one :) And, those tail lights rock.

This is like finding an old custom van.

4.56 gears..strictly stop light to stop light driving..no highway!

That style was ugly even in the early 70's, but it should be restored as is and it would be a cool car to show off. Pimping ain't easy!

LOL that's what I was thinking. Owned by a pimp or drug dealer or both. Guess he needs to get rid of the evidence now.

chazde3 06-18-2015 11:54 AM

I dig it. My dad's car was green and gold in the early 70's.

letterman7 06-18-2015 12:03 PM

That's a killer old school lacquer job - transparents over a silver base! I'm still trying to figure what "WESTERN SENCES" are (yes, I know... being facetious). I wouldn't spend that money, but.... take good photos and re-paint in the same scheme, less the western motif. Save the interior (take grandma for a ride!) since it's probably pretty good at sound absorption!

The13Bats 06-18-2015 12:39 PM

I dig old school "real" metal flake not metallic not the new school craft store glitter tossed in clear coat,
I dig panel painting and blending flowing fogged colors of true candy, scallops lace painting cob webbing etc, I never really got into the random murals that didn't flow to me which were really popular for a while, I recall a theme c2 radial custom called sand blaster with desert murals, as a whole it was fun.:D
And how many Molly Hatchet Frazetta album covers got sprayed on car hoods years ago...trends change with the times...disco died the guys who now make fun of that old school stuff love their cheesy tacky "calvin peeing", "cartoon famly", and "my kid is a honor student" decals...
I believe in the day this was a show stopper custom made to please the builder, depending on the rust it would be a really sweet old school custom to restore with a few modern touches.
