1987 Coupe - White / Red - LOTS of Pics - NEEDS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! (Re-Listed)

*** SOLD!!!!! ***

*** ADDITIONAL INTERIOR PICS ADDED in POST # 12 ****

I am re-listing my 1987 once again. To explain briefly, I was selling because my bride of 30 years (and BEST friend in the world!) has Osteoarthritis and has a difficult time getting in and out of the car. Seeing her struggle pained me, and the reason I bought this was for "us" to enjoy, so the initial decision to sell was easy. BUT, she fought me tooth and nail about selling, and asked me to forgo the sale of the car, so I yanked the original ad. Well, since then her OA has gotten worse, and getting in and out has become even more of a struggle...she still wants me to keep it, but I can not enjoy what I got for us to enjoy together, so I vouch that it will remain for sale until sold.

Having explained not only the "re-post", but now also giving folks insight into the reason for the sale, let us now move on to the ad: :yesnod:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

100% STOCK, NO MODS, UNMOLESTED. 163,8xx miles. Arctic White with flame red interior. Believe it or not, ORIGINAL carpet. Extremely well maintained. The one year old professional Arctic White paint is beautiful and shines like a mirror...it's BRIGHT!! The pictures of the exterior actually do the appearance no justice. EVERYTHING WORKS on this 87...right down to the V.A.T.S. and both power lumbar seats. All of the engine parameters are 100% within GM specs outlined in the Factory Service Manual. All of the weather seals are tight and this car is 100% leak free. The A/C is ICE COLD! (Well, close enough anyhow. I realize…we see this claim time and time again, but I have included a pic of a thermometer I placed in the center vent to PROVE it blows COOOLD!!) Outside temp yesterday was 86º at the time it was taken. The original BOSE radio was removed by the prior owner. I replaced the radio with a freshly remanufactured Delco AM/FM/Cassette unit. The rear speakers are NEW Delco 6x9s, the door speakers are Delco 6 in round units. The radio sounds GREAT! The antenna was upgraded to the later 1988 and up style, and at the time I installed it I also installed a new Delco replacement mast. The car originally came with both tops (plastic and solid) but currently only has the solid as seen. I also have a storage cover for the top that's included.

• Fuel economy ranges from 16-17mpg in town to 21-23mpg on the highway at 70mph.
• Coolant Temp = 198° and Oil Temp = 204° steady at 70 mph

This car needs absolutely nothing but a driver. Its an absolute joy to get behind the wheel of and drive.

Look at the pictures below...ask questions...Come and see it in person. Take it for a drive. I would not hesitate to drive this car to any point anywhere in the US.

I think that's about everything. If I think of something else I may have forgotten, I'll add it in.

SOLD!!!!

Thank you! It truly is a very nice car and gets compliments all of the time. Whoever ends up buying this car will be very pleased with it. :D

What a beautiful car! It's obvious you cared for it throughout the years because of your love for it. I'm sure it is hard to let it go but I admire you for selling it because the love for your wife is far greater. I truly hope that your wife can feel better soon. Best of luck.

Dt---thank you for the kind and true words, and for noticing the care that has gone into this car. It actually will be hard to part with, for both of us. The ones that are easy to let go of are those which are a constant source of problems and expense...this one is neither. This is solely my decision to sell. My bride wants me to keep it, but like I said earlier, if we can't both enjoy it...:(

Again, thank you my friend! :yesnod:

Zuma12 -- As per your PM request for some additional interior shots, here you go! I removed the mats to show the carpet condition. Again, this is the ORIGINAL carpet---it has never been replaced. Although it's not "perfect", I think it has help up pretty darned well for the last 28 years.

The first shot (not interior) was actually a good shot I was able to capture this morning to show how shiny this car really is. Like I said, white cars are a bear to take pics of to capture the true condition of the paint, so I grabbed the "photo-op" while I had a chance. :D

There is a sale pending with another member at this time. If something happens and the sale does not occur, I will let you know...but at this time it appears to be a done deal. I will update the thread when the status changes.

Thanks for the interest!

Please let me know if the sale does NOT complete as I'm willing to fly to your area and drive this beauty home to Pennsylvania!

The new owner will be flying in from Atlanta on Monday. I will be picking him up from the airport and bringing him back to the house to give him the opportunity to thoroughly inspect this car, making sure it meets all of his expectations. Also, with his being a first time 'vette owner, I will go over all of the cars operational features with him, answer any questions, conduct a test drive of the car, etc... I have told him that if for any reason he were to change his mind, I would gladly give him his money back and give him a return ride to the airport.

I will call this sale "COMPLETE" once the new owner has title in hand, and is happily on his way back to Atlanta.

Stay tuned, we're getting close now! :D

What a nice "first time" vette! And a great deal. Congrats and best of luck to you both!

Kingk30 07-17-2015 09:05 AM

That vette is coming to my city? I'm excited for her to be here. She's a beauty. Also. Let me know when the deal goes through. If not. I'll be coming from Atlanta to bring her home. 👀

Yessir, as long as the buyer doesn't change his mind (which I can't imagine he would!) it will be headed south. :D

I have had members PM me about my car as well, and if for some unforseen reason the deal doesn't occur, I will be contacting members in the order they have contacted me.

THANK YOU TO ALL for you kind words and interest! I will keep this thread updated.

Dave
