USAA Rebate on 2016 Coupe

I ordered a 2016 coupe from MacMulkin. It's currently sitting at my local dealer waiting to be picked up while I'm in the process of wiring the money to MacMulkin. The employee I spoke with on the phone told me the USAA rebate program, while valid through September of this year, is NOT valid on 2016 models. Does anyone have any info on this? Has anyone paid for their 2016 already and had the USAA rebate go through? If it's true that the USAA rebate isn't valid on 2016s, does anyone know if the credit union rebate is?

From my understanding the CU discount is now $750.00 off the best deal price you make with the dealer.

I am a USAA member and don't see the offer as in 2015 available currently, which was a reduction of an additional $750.00.

According to the Chevrolet website there are NO current incentives being offered by GM direct for the 2016 Corvette.

Bummer. I was planning to use the USAA rebate. What proof is required for the CU rebate?

joe285 07-14-2015 04:37 PM

I just came across this thread:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ber-offer.html

Looks like the new program starts tomorrow.

Not sure if MacMulkin will require more than proof of CU membership (copy of your debit card, statement, etc.) but there is a registration and authorization number process on GM's website (but not sure it will be needed with the new program that starts tomorrow). Here's the link: https://www.mygmdiscount.com/ip-vpp/

Please let us know what you needed for the discount, I also ordered from MacMulkin and will look to get the $750 CU discount/rebate (and anything else that is available...)

And don't forget to post pics of your new ride! Enjoy!

That is correct.......suggest that everyone read this thread Post #1 as mentioned above.

It really spells out the what is needed and the process.

USAA Discount should be good

I just spoke with the people at USAA Car Buying Service about the $750 discount. They say it is good on any car that is not exempt (Camaro Z28, ZL1 or Corvette Z06) regardless of the model year. This current offer expires 7-31-2015, but has been running for quite some time and should be renewed 8-01-2015.

I hope it is still good as my 2016 Laguna Blue vert 2lt is still sitting at the plant waiting to ship:willy:

The way I understand the fine print from USAA is you must buy from a USAA certified dealer. Macmulkin is not on the list they gave me

rmorin1249 07-14-2015 05:53 PM

Can you combine the USAA and CU rebate?

Criswell is.

Your selling dealer doesn't have to be a "USAA" dealer.

This incentive is available on 2015 models to any customer who is a USAA member from any dealer. GM reimburses the dealer so it would be crazy for a dealer not to honor the incentive.

I expect to see updated incentives announced for 2016 Corvettes on August 1.

Don't take delivery until August 1 or on or after the date that the new incentives are announced....or you might pay too much!

sanantguy 07-14-2015 06:58 PM

wow, so much bad information being passed around.

Macmulkin is honoring the usaa discount.

USAA simply gives you a code that you give macmulkin as proof.

end of story.

blueray16 07-14-2015 07:37 PM

I have an order in at MacMulkin and was told I would receive the USAA "bonus Rebate", which as mentioned is supposed to be good through September. Order currently at 1100( hoping to go to 2000 on thursday)
I had USAA fax certification letter direct to MacMulkin.
Haven't received a copy of the PO yet, so nothing in writing at this point.

I think Ken who is associated with a bona fide dealer would know the facts as he has presented them over any CF member who has no association with any dealership.

Not sure where or why you make statements like you do to state that "so much bad information being passed around" when you have no association with any dealer and you are not employed in the automobile industry.

Ken, with the update to the credit union discount program taking effect tomorrow, do you know if the USAA and credit union rebates can both be applied together assuming that 2016s become eligible for the USAA rebate?

I say that because that is how it is. THERE IS A LOT OF HERESAY AND BS BEING PASSED AROUND. It's also called bum scoop for you military types.

What can be done about this?

Simply avoid passing around information that you have not confirmed to be true.

I have done this with what I write.

I do not need to be associated with a dealer, I confirmed the information I passed here with a dealer first.

Whatever ken wants to pass that is associated with his dealership is his business. I talked to macmulkin and passed info relating to them.

Out

MacMulkin just told me that you can't combine the USAA and credit union rebates - it's one or the other. They said 2016s are currently not eligible for the USAA rebate but that it was likely they would be added at some point in the future. Luckily, I should be able to take advantage of the credit union rebate and still get a discount.

You don't have to be employed by a dealer to have the right information.

You actually have to have a code from USAA to get the USAA discount. You can either call USAA (which I did) or submit an online request. The certificate was delivered to me as a document through my USAA account with the subject "CL Rate Discount"

This is the first paragraph from the letter I was sent:

"Thank you for your interest in USAA’s manufacturer discount program. When you’re ready to buy your next vehicle that is eligible for the discount program, please provide this number to your dealer: XXXXXXXXX. This is your USAA number and will also serve as your authorization number when you buy the vehicle."

As long as the Corvette is on the list of eligible vehicles you get the discount.
