Chemical "Liquid Nails" smell resolved

I've finally found a product that has eliminated the chemical smell (not the new car leather smell but a potent, irritating, off-gassing, chemical smell) that gets very strong especially when left in the sun for a few hours. After a lot of researching I read about a product called "SO2Pure" that eliminates (not hides) off-gassing odors. I ordered a spray bottle from Amazon for just under $15 & it arrived last week. I was surprised when it arrived as I was expecting something about a quart size ( it's 120 ml but I'm not quite metric literate so ......). Anyway, I removed the mats & sprayed all the carpeting including the trunk. I've been testing it in the sun for a few days & have come to the conclusion that the SO2Pure has worked. Sometimes after I leave it closed up in the sun I get the faintest whif of a coconut scent, nothing more. Very pleased but wish the bottle was larger.

You could also have solved it by bottling up the aroma and sending it to me. I love it.

Looks like you picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue. :hide:

If you go down to the hardware store and buy a tube of silicone sealer, squirt it all out on a piece of cardboard, & leave it in your car, you'll have it.

Thanks, but I like the smell of my car just the way it is.

Congrats on finding a solution to that annoying smell. Enjoy the leather smell now.

Thanks. It has been 9 months and I can still smell it. I'll get some today. Every time I got in my car, I thought of the old Lynard Skynard song "Ooh that smell"
