Help with picking an aftermarket exhaust
Hi guys, thinking of getting an aftermarket exhaust system for my '14 3LT base. The stock exhaust is good, but I would like something more aggressive. I would particularly like a system that augments the rumble on deceleration and down shifts. This is the best sound the car makes, in my opinion. I would like it to also to work with the active exhaust.

IMMD; Like you have a '14 base, ordered without NPP. Added the Cosa Sport, & could not be more pleased! Upon acceleration sounds Great, when cruising NO drone, very quiet, & when decelerating a very nice rumble. At idle, sounds like 460HP Corvette should. Suggest you visit the Corsa website where sounds can be heard, & perhaps help you make a decision.

I've had my CORSA Extreme with their double helix x-pipe for almost a year now and absolutely love the setup and sound!

My B&B PRT are just the right amount of muscle with no drone.
I love them! |

It's the way they're designed.

Thanks for the info. Is there anyone who, over the years, has had different brand systems? Again while I want a more aggressive sound in general, I really want to make the rumbling on decels and downshifts louder and, if possible, occur more frequently. I know nothing about this sort of thing, so I don't know if it's even possible to make the rumbles happen more often. As it is now with the stock exhaust it seems to occur to some degree somewhat randomly.

Most of the aftermarket systems are going to work with AFM. NPP is a different story. You are limited to Borla Atak, Billy Boat Fusion, and a couple of other systems that have recently been added (Akrapovic, for example but, that one is a $4k+ system...). Borla Atak and Billy Boat Fusion being the most popular. Corsa does not support NPP with any system. It does support AFM. Billy Boat Bullets do not support NPP. Only the Fusion is an active exhaust. Borla, like Billy Boat, has active and non-active exhaust options. Only the Borla dual mode exhausts, like the Atak, are going to support NPP. |

The other option is to swap out the headers - ARH midlength headers with high flow cats will make a big difference in sound, do not require a tune, and will match up to the stock x-pipe location as opposed to long tube headers. These will also give the stock mufflers or aftermarket more pop during shifting and deceleration. Or, go all out and do the full exhaust like I did...it's addictive to get the sound you want! |
Great info guys thanks very much. I was referring to NPP and so Ill probably look at the borla system primarily.
