Magnaflow AxleBacks (#15623) Reviews

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone had any experience with The Magnaflow Axle back exhaust system (parts#15623) for LT1 Vettes? Easy to install? Build quality? any info would be great.

Also, more specifically for the California members...have these mufflers effected smog test results in any way?

Thanks!

I actually had them on the car when I bought it, they are very very mild in sound production. I took them off and put on eliminators, and now I have zero cabin drone. The magnaflows are nice build quality, and easy to put on, just not enough sound for me. I passed emissions over here on the east coast with flying colors.

Pretty sure mufflers have nothing to do with what emissions numbers your car produces.

Simple to install.
They look great and sound great from the outside.
Serious drone on the inside.

If you have a Dana 36 with less than 3.07 gears or a Dana 44 with 3.45 gears Magnaflow will drone. Needless to say, in CA you will do freeway driving, and at freeway speeds/low RPMS you will have a nasty ugly drone.

Dana 36 with 3.07 gears will have a nice rumble on the freeway, and Dana 44 with 3.91 will drone less, but drone will be there.

I had Magnaflows in both Dana 36, and Dana 44. I ended up so fed up, and sick of the drone that ended up buying Corsa.

The Magnaflows from The Ghost ended up in the trash can, and the Magnaflow system from Betty Boop still on my back yard.

If anyone in SoCal wants it, bring me a case of Pacifico, and its yours.

FYI-No CARB needed for mufflers.

It is, I put it for sale in Craiglist, and no takers. Its on the way, and I will never buy Magnaflows again.

magnaflows drone

I had them on 96, way to much drone, they had a nice sound but I could not take the interior drone, so I put the stock mufflers back on and removed the resonators it has more bark than stock but not intrusive. I did like the looks of the quad pipes so I am going to have the black square tips removed and find a nice pair of stainless tips like the corsa or the mags and weld on to the stock mufflers as extensions

I've wondered how the drone is versus Flowmasters.

Then, I need 3". :flag:

I was told by my exhaust guy that a second X at the upturn at the axle eliminates most drone issues.
