New 15 Z06 Z07 owner in Colorado

I am a newbie to the forum, owning a Corvette and track driving. I have always loved Corvettes and finally reached a point in life that I was comfortable with a purchase. A perfect year to buy as this is the most track capable Vette ever. I found the car I wanted in Dallas, the process and dealer were great. An A8 Z06 Z07 Coupe Daytona Sunrise Orange with black racing stipes. Beautiful car. Dealer said A8 would be great for some one starting on the track. Pulled the trigger, went to Big D and picked up my car. Driving back to Colorado I followed the break in procedure and had my oil changed as soon as I got home. I was extremely pleased with the way the car handled and drove. A couple of weeks later I decided it was time to use the car for what it was build for and advertised as. Go to the track! Pueblo Motor Sports Park is a 2.2 mile 10 turn track. I went to the track orientation and started running laps. First couple hours were spent learning the track and getting used to the handling of the car so I was not pushing very hard. Later in the day with more confidence as I pushed harder the car overheated. I was unable to do two full laps at speed with warning lights coming on and performing cool downs. Now a lot of people might say my being a new track driver may have contributed to this but I was approached by a professional driver who was interested in my car and wanted to do a few laps. Hesitantly I agreed. He made one lap before the car overheated. He did 3 cool down laps and another hot lap in which he said was the fastest he had ever done in a production car but the overheating would cause him not to get one for himself. Also at the track that day was a test driver for Road and track, he also told me he had overheating issues with the Z06. I really love this car and it's potential but will not be able to push until overheating issue is resolved. Any help would be appriciated?

Congrats on your new vette and welcome to the mad house. You are not the first one to have over heating problems with the new Z on track day, you'll find more treads on the subject on the C7 Z06 section of the forum brother... Enjoy your new toy n post some pics !!!
