I don't understand what this means:lurk:

That's exactly what it's there for!

The divits are there for water to drain from the mirrors.

No.

Not once have I ever had water tread that path. They are there for a cig lighter battery tender cord. Many threads on this. One such:

No Way Guy:Do you and others think that GM put them there for a battery tender, if so every vette owner would have one.:crazy2: Do a search for streaks of water running down the door after washing, many threads on the problem for years. Test it yourself: Push in your side mirror and pour some water into the hole you will see, and watch the the water run out of the so called divits. The guy that started that thread was smoking some good stuff.....

I have been using CTEK's for years. My 07 will be 9 years old January 2nd and it still has the original battery in it. There has been no hint of its demise as of 10 days ago when I drove it. I have also used a Battery Butler in the past with great results. Hood is closed, car up on lift, there is plenty of air circulation with the hood down. FWIW.

*my results are not the typical tender users results. I am a professional, do not try this at home kids. Adult supervision is suggested...

sEEMS to be more difficult to find C-TEK tenders where can you get them?
My original battery is now over 10 years old.

i was just referring to the fact that i don't want to disconnect the battery on the C6 if i don't have to, my '65 i disconnect the battery when it's not being used and for prolonged rest periods it also has the tender on it. The battery is 10 yrs old in the 65 but have had to replace the battery in the '08 already

don't forget to change the air in your tires.

Hood closed, cover on. No vapor issues. My "Deltran Battery Tender" and cord is fed through the motor compartment, cord is down under and connected to an outlet. I don't like leaving my hood cracked or ajar.

Question Guys:I know how a battery charger works when plugged into a outside source to power it ok......These tenders that plugs into the cig lighter you are using your own battery power to charge your battery. I hope you know what I mean" It would seem like the tender would need to go into turbo mode and charge 24/7??...I'm want to get one because I live in a apartment and my vette is in a carport at the end of the building.Do they really keep the battery at the max charge?..Thanks.

The cigarette lighter plug isn't powering the tender. The tender is plugged into the wall outlet and instead of connecting it at the battery, you're charging the battery through the cig lighter.

OK ,that makes sense, some of the other posts on this tread make me think that cig lighter was powering the Tender. Then why not just use clips and AC instead off the lighter..

:iagree: Yup, it's just running the electricity backwards...instead of drawing power from the lighter socket, it's being used as an inlet for power to flow into the system and therefore the battery. It is simply a very convenient way to connect to the system.
